Hive Power-up Day + May Blog (June)

It is June already, and I have no idea where all the time has gone, but here we are in the summer and surprisingly enough, I have managed to daily post since January, a total of 6 months so far, and I am halfway to 1 full year. I don't know if I'll be able to continue to post daily and keep the streak going until the end of the year, but I'd like to give it a good go if possible.

I've noticed that my account has grown so much because of my efforts, and more so than that, due to all the fiction I have written I feel that my writing skills have increased so much along with the growth.

The Month of May
May was a good month, not only did I continue my posting, but I also played a gig, our first one with Dangerous Dave and the Side Effects since the end of January, and not only was it a good night, we played the gig in Cork, which we had never played before, and it is always good playing to a new crowd.

We also have a couple more gigs booked over the next few weeks, and we're looking forward to getting back out there, especially with the festival around the corner.

Music Videos
This month I also filmed my first music video in a couple of months, and it turned out really good. The song I did it for is really catchy and well worth checking out!

Pinteo Cats - She carries life

I have had a couple of calls from different people about doing some music videos for them; as usual, when it rains it pours. Not only that, but I bought a 20ft x 10ft greenscreen and me and the lads have had a couple of ideas for music videos of our own that we're going to shoot over the next few weeks.

Some of these videos will release in the run-up to the launch of our second album, and the album will be out in time for us to play at the festival at the start of August.

The Cover Band
We have had a couple of calls about doing a few gigs but had to turn them down while we get ourselves back in the swing of things. Since the baby came along we've been on a slight hiatus, just so I can focus on the baby for these first couple of weeks, now though, it is a good time to get back into the swing of things and carry on expanding our set and playing.

Along with simply playing, practicing, and learning new songs, I'd like to focus on recording some of the covers, the crème de la crème of our set to be precise, and along with some recordings, I'll shoot a couple of performances pieces, just to be used on social media and shared around, which in turn should help us get more gigs.

The Baby
He is doing amazing, he's already 7 weeks old, and I have no idea where those weeks have gone. He is always hungry and is drinking 5-ounce bottles, by his 5-week weighing, the nurse told us that he had put on nearly 3 pounds - going from 6.8 pounds to 9.4 - as well as this, he grew 5cm.

We haven't had a weight for a couple of weeks, but I'd say he's over 10 pounds now, and a wee bit more grown.

Over the last couple of weeks, he's really started to recognise us, and our voices, he has also started smiling when we talk to him. He's happy, my partner is happy, and I'm happy.

We have started coming back to my hometown too, which is great. I was comfortable living down in hers full time, but I do think people need to be around their own surroundings occasionally, to help recharge the batteries.

The Fiction
The book I wrote is coming along, it is 16 chapters and I'm currently over halfway through editing it - which is a pain-staking ordeal, although, I did manage to get some help from someone here on Hive, so I'm hoping to get it published within the next month or two, fingers crossed anyway.

I recently had a breakthrough, I was able to link each chapter start, in the sidebar, which has helped so much with navigation.

On To The Power-up
As of last month Power-up, For May, I had reached a total of 3,473.075HP and pre-power up today, I'm at 3,594.554.

During the month of May, I also reached 69 Reputation, and I checked Hive Stats today, and that has grown to 69.2, well 69.205, which is mad, and I'm inching my way ever closer to 70.

I don't know if 70 in a year and a half is good or bad, but I'm pretty happy with the increase and think I've done pretty well.

I had 114.123 liquid Hive in my account, I had hoped to have more, but that's the way the cookie crumbles.

I decided to power it all up, and turn it into beautiful Hive Power!

With today's power-up, my HP is now 3,708.684, and that is a great figure in my eyes and also means that including my power-up, I increased my stake by 200 HP, or just over.

Next Months Goal
For next months power-up day, the 1st of July, I want to have 4k HP, and I think it is achievable, through Curation, and daily posting, as well as potentially selling some of the coins in Hive Engine, potentially, I'm not sure about that though, I'm thinking of just hoarding everything until we're booming again.

That's actually something I never mentioned, I have made some amazing gains with other Tokens and holdings here on chain, one that I have been focusing on is PIMP, and this month I have made about 200-300, currently I have about 2,500 and want to keep stacking them, as well as a handful others I'm concentrating on.

I'm really happy with how May went both on, and off chain, and I think June is going to be just as good, if not better. I'm saving up at the moment, to buy some more Hive, and if all goes well this month, I'm going to blow past my goal to reach 4k HP, but if I don't end up buying it, fingers crossed I can hit my goal naturally.
