The Comedy Open Mic Bi-Weekly Contest: The "Mock" Tale

For the longest period, my friend took a stance that she didn’t drink alcohol, her reason was that she loved control and alcohol made her feel and look stupid which was fine to me because I wasn’t a drinker myself.

We would often go out and she would order soda or some sort of juice, and as a form of solidarity, I would order the same thing with her, she did this for months until one fateful day.

Around August 2021, we had a wedding we had to attend and we were part of the bridal party, the bride wanted a bridal shower, and we were given the responsibility to host it which was pretty amazing.

The day before the party, the bride pulled my friend aside and begged her to let loose a little since it was going to be the last time we would all be having a night out, and my friend made a promise to.

On the night of the bridal shower, drinks started going around, and my friend agreeing to let loose accepted a cocktail that was “supposedly” filled with alcohol.

It wasn’t up to an hour and my friend started acting crazy, jumping around on the tables of the bars where we went to and acting a bit chaotic.

This “act” continued through the whole night to a point where she even started puking which was disgusting, to say the least.

At the end of the night, I decided to go pay for all our drinks and used the opportunity to ask the bartender what he put in her cocktail because hers felt a bit stronger than ours, he replied with “oh, the bride asked for hers to be a mocktail and not a cocktail”, which made me burst into laugher.

This meant my friend had spent the whole night looking stupid and acting drunk from a "mocktail" and most people in the bar were aware of it.

I guess the mocktail made a mockery out of her at the end of the day, and I couldn't even fathom telling her.

To date, I haven’t said a word to her about that night which might make me a bad friend, but how do I even start explaining what might have happened.

Do you think I should tell her?

what's a mocktail, was that alcohal too... it looks like she did not have a good time.

When I drink, I get so aware and keep talking nonstop, actually fun to get loose at some occasions, of course there are limits(:

A mocktail has no alcohol so that was the funny part.
She thought it had alcohol.

I feel like it's the idea of alcohol that gets people drunk 😆 who knows.

But then again I know sugar gets people drunk.

Thank you so much for the welcome.

I've met people who swore they got high on a malt drink so this isn't out of the question

That was one fun-ass situation.
But is it your high?
Allow her to be high on mocktail ohhh...
Maybe the idea of the anticipated alcohol got her intoxicated 😂😂

I couldn't stop laughing, it was just hilarious.

It's not my high but it's my embarrassment oh and yeah it was probably the idea of it that affected her or she was acting drama.

Hahaha, does that mean she faked being drunk? But then you said she puked, could it be that the bartender actually put something on her drinks?

Maybe it's best not to tell her. It would really embarrass her :)

I once heard that there is a brain thing that happens when you feel like you have alcohol in your system, your body literally acts like you do, I don't know if it is true or maybe she faked it, I wouldn't know 😆

I might tell her on her wedding day 😆 who knows

Oh, that's new to me hehe, so it might be that her body reacted that way coz the brain sent some weird info, lol! Ahaha, that would be really memorable when you get to tell her on her wedding day 😆

Exactly, when I learned about it, I was shocked but I guess our brain is weird.

It might be memorable or she might kill me 😆

That's another aspect of the brain that we just learned :) Haha, she might be furious at first and then laugh soon after, lol!

Are you saying that it's not the alcohol's fault when people are acting weird? Is it a psychological thing then?
Such a revelation LOL

😆 we have been blaming alcohol all this time, it's time for it to sue us.

Hahahahaha, so if no intoxicating liquor was in the drink, just a cocktail, why was she acting drama? Really funny

What's a mocktail? Is it a stronger drug?

Non alcoholic......!
Then why she reacted that way??? She did that all consciously with a thought that people would think she is drunk, right??

I really wouldn't know if it was drama or something else 😆

Sounds like she was acting out of what she has seen when others are stone drunk;
it's like the control group who takes a placebo thinking they have the real thing lol. Basically, the actions of expectation.
Nice storyline @khaleesii!

Exactly, I think it was either a brain thing or maybe just drama, I'll never know.

Bendiciones 🙏🏼🤗🌺

Here you have just shown us that the mind has power, she, without knowing that she did not have alcohol, believed that if she was drinking it and got drunk to the point of vomiting, you should tell her so that she knows when her mind has power, so she would apply it for great things. It was nice to read your experience, I wish you luck in the contest. Blessings🙏🏼🤗🌺
