Threads is the stepping stone to something much, much bigger.

Threads is working great and it’s been less than two months since we launched this new platform on top of the LeoFinance app.

The future of Threads and growth of the Monthly Active Users is the key to growing the LEO token and spreading the LeoVerse to a much wider audience.

Find out about this and learn more about the development, updates, and roadmap for the Threads feature!

How can Threads and microblogging break out of LEOverse though?

If you haven't noticed, most devs in Hive now believe 'rewards for bloggers' needs to die.

Essentially saying, Hive needs to evolve and attract brighter minds that can gamify all kinds of things beyond just people writing about their mediocre lives. Thus short text content on HIVE doesn't look likely to ever take off.

A project here needs to be robust. SplinterLands is THE BENCHMARK. It's the true success story of Hive because it attracts and retains users. It does well to both take their money, and reward them back. The development of a multitude of ways to do that is then WHY it continues it's growth and remains sustainable.

Khal spoke of synergy on HIVE but then doesn't even practice it. LEO would be better placed to gain users if for instance started a push for content through 3Speak shorts and rewarded (jointly with 3Speak) micro video marketing.

LEO would also attract users already in SplinterLands if it for example had a CUB card in play and therefore generated participation through both the gaming element on HIVE and through art contests. This is then how your CUB evolves to be like a mascot and 'money generator' ... rather than what that poor CUB exists as now... a static image of a somewhat malnourished cat.

The world of Hive and many of it's projects need reimagining. Else they just exist as what @theycallmedan referred to on a past CCT... as 'zombie projects' ... which coincidentally, his Ragnarok game is one of them. Rather embarrassing.

Hive just can't attract big money and big userbase with these go-nowhere-for-years projects. If HF26 doesn't shake things up then there's just not going to be much here for the rest of the crypto world.

Sure projects will keep on... but to a tiny audience. And if rewards for blogging dies... I bet someone else comes through and takes away the predominantly Latino users that sustain Hive activity (other than CUSTOM_JSON).

"If you haven't noticed, most devs in Hive now believe 'rewards for bloggers' needs to die."

Eh, I think this is a small minority. Especially of elitists who have a big stack of HIVE and don't like seeing their HIVE get distributed to others.

"Khal spoke of synergy on HIVE but then doesn't even practice it."

That's just wrong. We have so many synergies on Hive, just because they're not the synergies you envision doesn't mean they don't exist. LeoFinance is intricately linked with the Hive blockchain, leveraging technology in very specific ways that benefit our community and aim to grow it.

Your idea about 3speak shorts is something I posted about a few weeks ago, calling on Threespeak to potentially do some sort of short-form video storage for us so that we can add a "record button" to Threads and have shorts.

That also being said, working with other projects is much easier said than done. They're building their thing, we're building ours. Together we can have some overlaps but hinging our entire roadmap on another project is an unsound idea.

"Hive just can't attract big money and big userbase with these go-nowhere-for-years projects"

lol. Splinterlands was a go-nowhere-for-years project until it wasn't.

So was Amazon. So was Facebook.

Things are nothing until they aren't.

Splinterlands has a cool model and I love their project (and am quite a large investor in it). That being said, they are far from the end-all-be-all. They have a model that works for them. That model won't work for everyone else.

Broaden your eyes, look to the bigger picture. That's my advice. Sitting around here and complaining about the way things are won't get things accomplished. We need a forward-looking ship rather than an in-fighting crowd of Hive maximalists. That's why Leo does away with all the maximalism bs and focuses on expansion, not contraction.

Your post on synergy wasn't about just using the Hive BC. It was clearly saying that "dapps" (projects) need to work together to sustain each other.

Now here in your reply to that you're speaking reality, which is that it's very hard for projects to work together and that elitest here guard their work and potential profits.

So my point of 'no actual synergy' is proven even by your own words. Which you again solidify with your statement that YOU DID reach out to 3Speak about the shorts idea but clearly didn't get much of a response back.

Your end statement is a sickness because a metaphorical "forward looking ship" is words that have no meaning other than what the intent attempts:

"Please only praise things, even if they appear to be going nowhere.."

NO.

It's that mentality that gives people like @theycallmedan freedom to bullshit to hive users that Ragnarok had potential yet for over 6 months ZERO updates, highlighting the true state of many projects on HIVE.

ZOMBIES.

I could point out more flaws about Leo but you should read that from your own users. Many comments now openly critique the offerings as not living up to the once hyped up rhetoric.

YOU yourself even state here in this video that only now, you feel happy with threads and that you agree it was hard to use for a long time.

That's low-grade development. NOT going to be attractive to any one other than easily fooled users.

We don't live in the early days of internet. We live in an age where digital platforms are well polished. On top you and others push the claim that Hive does web3 so much better than any other chain...

BUT IT DOESN'T.

That's just clear to anyone that looks deep. Just look how damn long this hard fork from @blocktrades has taken.

This thing has much work to be where people think it should be.

I'm positive to that long term potential... but I'm also not afraid to speak honestly.

Well Hive became a good option for poor countries.. great. That's possibly why power devs want to KILL 'blog rewards' ... and it's irrelevant if some devs don't agree.

So again I ask.... (something you avoided in your reply) .... how can microblogging be sustainable on a chain where 'power devs' think it should never be rewarded?

The coming changes are also going to make your activity more expensive... and so I think you trying to market Threads as an alternative to Twitter is....

Not very thought through.

Twitter: completely free. Large audience.
Threads: a pay to play clone, with a very small audience.

You could only make the above successful with high grade UI development and high throughput backend systems with a rewards mechanism that's sustainable.

You even make that point in your video... that you want the system to be ready for high demand or it will fail.

Hive just doesn't offer that yet. So that's my ultimate point if you see the rest as "complaining".

Anyway that's all my RC.
Maybe delegations will help.

But know this ...

The highly anticipated/(celebrated as going to be highly profitable) RC POOLS flopped before they could even exist.

That's the true Hive vs the sales pitch. Big ideas.... that fall short. This misalignment is clear to many.
