Hello! My name is Hira Karmachela a.k.a BABE ODED, I'm a sharia-compliant artist based on Indonesia. It's December 2021 and there have been a lot of Art vs Artist posts on various social media. I thought why not do it on Hive. If you don't know what the Art vs Artist challenge is, I'll explain a little bit.

It's a challenge to create an image post that pairs the artwork with the artist. Typically, posts are created with a 9 grid template featuring 8 squares of artwork and 1 photo of the artist in the middle. But it's not absolute, in essence this challenge is to show the existence of an artist in the community and as a place to compare the progress of art skills this year with the previous year.

So, this is a compilation of my best works for this year and I really hope I can continue to work for the years to come with better works.

Revolution in Art

This year has been a revolutionary year for me. I have applied many new disciplines to myself, especially in the arts. Things have changed and I can admit it's my alter ego. However, it's not bad at all, in fact I'm grateful because that's how I found the art style that I've always wanted to achieve as my own uniqueness.

I studied many styles, styles, and techniques of art. I did this because it was part of the demands of my job, both as a teacher and as a freelancer. As a teacher, I have to master many insights and art techniques in order to become teaching materials for the needs of my students. On the other hand, as a freelancer, I am faced with many different projects that demand different art styles and techniques such as illustration, graphic design, animation, pixel art, vector art, and manipulation art.

However, because of the many things that I tried and learned plus demands from outside myself, all of this made me confused about the identity of my work. I am confused about my own characteristics, even I am confused what to make without a brief from other people (clients/syllabus).

I am grateful, this year I decided to revolutionize myself and move for the better. I decided to become a sharia-compliant artist and started making works that really came out of my self-expression.

Minting The Genesis on H=N

This year is the year of the rise of NFT. This is because many artists have started to understand the existence and benefits of NFT and from there many artists have started to study NFT.

I started to know and use crypto-art since 2018 and that year I started to collect NFT. But never imagined that NFT would be such an amazing platform for artists like it is today.

Armed with a new paradigm about the arts, I was determined to join the NFT community. I decided to mint the first artwork on Hicetnunc.

Exhibition at HiveFest 2021

After printing several NFT works, I also want to continue to explore many experiences and reach more audiences for my work. For that, I started printing at the NFT Showroom. Luckily, it didn't take long for my work to find collectors, the works below have been collected by @cooperclub and listed at reasonable prices and available on the secondary market.

This work also coincided with the HiveFest celebration and once again I was lucky to be selected as one of the artists who was able to display my work at such a cool event.

Launching NFT Collection on OpenSea

Feeling more challenged in NFT, I decided to create a profile picture project (PFP) entitled #parallaxonBoarder in OpenSea. This is a collection of artworks created by BABE ODED that combines 2D techniques and image manipulation in deconstructivism and surrealism presented in a 3D perception. This collection is unique and limited to only 99 items and has 1/1 supply for each item called onBoarder.

Each onBoarder has unlockable content consisting of high resolution PFP, unique background, and 3D asset which can be unlocked once purchased. Below are the first item to mint in this collection.
