ASTRL WARS BEGINNER REVIEW – FROM CONFUSED TO ADDICTED

Hey guys! If you just downloaded Astral Wars and you’re staring at the screen like, ‘What the heck is going on?’ — relax. I was exactly like you. In this review, I’ll break it all down in plain English — what the game is about, how it works, and why I’m now lowkey addicted to it. Shoutout to @surgentgaming . Let’s go!

WHAT IS ASTRAL WARS?
Okay, so Astral Wars is basically a digital card battle game — but it’s not your usual drag-and-drop. You have six main resources: Might, Energy, Core energy, Range, Armor, Battery.

Each match is a 1v1 card battle. You and your opponent take turns playing cards, and every card has different effects. Some deal damage, some block attacks, and some works like a trap card… it gets strategic fast.

HOW DO YOU PLAY?
Simple version? You pick your strongest cards, play them at the right time, and try to knock out your opponent’s core energy before they do it to you.

Alright, now let’s talk about the different game modes — because Astral Wars isn’t just one long grind. Each mode brings its own flavor, so let me break them down for you.

1. Tutorial Mode – Where It All Begins
   Let’s talk about Tutorial Mode, aka the ‘training wheels’ of Astral Wars. This is where the game teaches you the basics: how to play cards, what Might, Energy, Core energy, Range, Armor and Battery are, and how to win a match without panicking.

Now, I’m not gonna lie — the first time I played the tutorial, I still didn’t fully get it 😅. But that’s okay. You’re not supposed to master it all at once.”

Challenge Mode

Challenge Mode is where the game throws random obstacles or twists at you — and you have to adapt. It’s not just about having strong cards. It’s about thinking fast, adjusting your strategy, and surviving chaos. This mode is NOT your regular back-and-forth card duel. Challenge Mode changes the rules, shakes the table, and laughs while doing it 😅.”

Solo Practice Mode – ‘The Safe Zone’

Now here’s a mode I highly recommend for beginners — Solo Practice Mode. This is where you go to test your deck, try new combos, and just figure out what works. No pressure, no judgment. Just pure, stress-free gameplay.

Exploration Mode – The Adventure Side Quest

Now let’s talk about one of the most interesting modes in Astral Wars — Exploration Mode. If Quick Battles are your daily training, then Exploration Mode is your story quest and boss fight all rolled into one.

Multiplayer Mode – The Classic Duel

This is the mode most people start with. 1v1, you vs another player, and you just go all out. Fast-paced, straight to the point, and perfect for testing out your new deck builds. It’s where I got the hang of card mechanics. Shout out @grimmjoe for helping me out.

PS: He won this game. I lost this match because I used the wrong card at the last second. I used a defense card and he countered with an invincibility card and BAM — defeated. I stared at the screen like: ‘HOWWW broo?’ 😂 You live and learn.

TIPS FOR BEGINNERS

When I started, I was just tapping cards and praying for the best. Here’s what I wish I knew from the start:

1. Read the card descriptions! Some cards don’t just attack — they steal, heal, or boost future moves.

2. Balance your deck. Don’t just chase damage. Add defense, traps and spell cards, and utility cards.

3. Watch your core energy bar. Don’t go all out and leave yourself wide open.

FINAL THOUGHTS
If you’re starting out and feeling a bit lost, don’t worry. Stick with it for a few games. Learn how the cards work, experiment, and don’t be afraid to lose — every match teaches you something.

Astral Wars is easy to play, tough to master, and crazy addictive once it clicks. Just don’t blame me when you’re still playing at 2am .
