I usually write about art, but I'm also really active in a few blockchain-backed games and always looking for new ones on the horizon. A few weeks ago, I entered my information to be whitelisted for beta testing HeroVerse, which, according to their website, "is the pioneer to bring the top-grossing mobile game genre to the blockchain space." It is a match-3 rpg game, which is a niche I've been a fan of for a while, so seeing an attempt at bringing the genre to the blockchain was something I found really exciting.

To my delight, I was accepted as a beta tester on October 10, and have been playing the Android testnet beta since then (it's also available for PC). While not yet a perfect game (it is only in beta, after all), I think HeroVerse has a ton of potential. My biggest gripe is that the difficulty early in the game definitely needs some balance--I'm unable to move beyond the village levels (the first stage), even with a fully maxed out and awakened team of heroes.

This boss haunts me.

Since the release of the closed beta has been so successful, the dev team has decided to move to open the beta to interested players who weren't on the whitelist. If you're interested in playing, you can learn more about joining the beta here. Let me know what you think if you end up joining!
