Lost Ark ~ Soloing the first Guardian Raid as a Bard
When I first unlocked access to the first Guardian Raid my gear was item-level 326 and since 302 was the minimum for entry I thought that I just might be able to do it by myself. You can do it with 1-4 people after all!
Of course I failed to take into account the fact that my Bard is a support character and even though I have 2 presets set up -- one for when I'm by myself, more DPS focused and one for when I'm in a group, with a bunch of support skills set up -- my DPS one wasn't quite enough for solo'ing the raid the first couple of times I tried.
However, I'm now ilevel 373 AND last night I got my first awakening skill which looks freakin' amazing.
So I thought that I'd give it another try by myself before at last just joining a group.
Now, I have no issues with joining groups, but being a parent and having the possibility of needing to get up and go AFK for a while at a time I don't like joining groups unless I'm positive I won't be getting up any time soon or won't need to suddenly leave.
So into the raid I went! A guide I read a couple of days ago said that this first boss is weak to earth damage and to bring clay grenades, BUT THAT WAS A DIRTY LIE. This first boss is actually weak to water damage, and so I brought along some frost grenades.
I also brought a couple of flares for when the boss vanishes and reappears elsewhere and a couple of percentage HP potions on the off-chance I missed a dodge.
Now, this boss doesn't really drop anything useful for me since technically I've out-levelled it.
But I just wanted to kill it. And I did!!! Although I'm sure if I were in a group it would've been a lot quicker, and I'm sure if I were a DPS class it would've been a lot quicker too.
And no, it didn't drop anything useful for me -- but it did give me a rune that increases my cast speed, so, woo!
Mission accomplished! I solo'd the first guardian raid boss as a Bard!
I don't think I'll be doing that again -- it's pretty pointless. For future bosses I think I'll just wait til an opportune moment and group up so the loot is actually worth-while. 😅

Nice one! I kinda got bored of Lost Ark. End game wasn't really that special and the fact that I have to balance my item level with my friends for us to play together without losing out on daily lockouts just sucks.

I haven't gotten bored of the game yet, but I've gotten into this spot where I want to wait for my partner and friends to catch up so we can do this type of content together instead of just queuing with randoms. I kind of rushed waaaaay ahead. 😅 But I'm happy to just flail around for a bit and do collections and exploration in the meantime while waiting, though.
Yeah I got around 80 hours out of it, although that's with many hours in queue and AFK. Still decent. Also kinda nice that I would tire of it already with Elden Ring coming on Friday. That's gonna be my life then anyways.
Sounds like a good life! xD I want to get into that too but can't justify the price at the moment; I'll definitely be leaping in the moment it goes on special though.
