Why I might not Stake all my SPS on the First Day of the Pre-Sale
So it's not long before the most anticipated event EVER happens in Splinterlands short history, the Chaos Legions Pre-sale. It's 4 months in the making and people are scrambling to get all their SPS staked in readiness for those wonderful airdropped vouchers. But I might not stake my SPS just yet and here's why?
You see I'm not affected by the FOMO as much as others are.
And I refuse to push and shove.
You see, I'm a logical thinker (not an emotional thinker) and it got me thinking when everyone jumps out of the liquidity pools what's gonna happen to the Total System Airdrop Points?
Like I'm expecting it to fall around at least around 500M points as people no longer get all those juicy (2x) liquidity pool rewards. So that means more airdropped SPS for me, if I stay in, right?
Well that's what I am pondering right now.
So perhaps I miss the first day of the airdrop so I can see how this plays out and keep my SPS liquid for maximum flexibility.
I mean with the extra SPS I receive for staying in the liquidity pool, as long as vouchers aren't selling much over $10 I think I kinda break even with SPS currently being near $1.
All I know is once you stake, it's a good 4 weeks before you can correct your mistake.
Maybe I'm wrong or maybe I right?
But I don't need to get these promo cards in the pre-sale, as there's a maximum print of 20000 if everyone buys Chaos Legions in 50 pack lots, so I'm sure there will be plenty on the marketplace for a price.
And I've even done the math on that, but more on that in another post.
So are you staking all your SPS on the first day?
Let me know in the comments below what you expect will happen when this pre-sale goes live?
Electronic-terrorism, voice to skull and neuro monitoring on Hive and Steem. You can ignore this, but your going to wish you didnt soon. This is happening whether you believe it or not. https://ecency.com/fyrstikken/@fairandbalanced/i-am-the-only-motherfucker-on-the-internet-pointing-to-a-direct-source-for-voice-to-skull-electronic-terrorism
OHHHH interesting!! I wonder what @gregory-f would say about this? We've been chatting a bit about what to do regarding the vouchers! You've been upvoted by rosiew for 1UP! :) Yipppeee!
Yes, I value other opinions for sure. That said what vouchers I earn will likely be sold if the price is right. Because I can always buy those promo cards later and even the unique airdrop cards if they have any real value.
As per usual it's buy before you try. (or actually know what you're buying)
Excellent post and some food for thought! You've been upvoted by rosiew.

I've been staking most of my SPS from Day 1 and will continue to do so. I'm not good with tactics. I've been in the DEC-BUSD pool since before SPS was announced. Biggest mistake I've made in crypto so far. I try not to think about all that DEC I've lost.

Thanks for stopping by. Yeah I stayed away from those USD:DEC pools because people just want easy DEC. Fortunately the SPS:DEC pool is a win-win so it's much safer pool to be in.
I too was staking SPS from day one as I was told by Agrroed and that never got me nearly enough vouchers in this airdrop (still kinda pissed).
So I am doing it my way now and shutting off the FOMO.
And hey we might still arrive at the same point anyway so who knows who is right, but I'll leave you with this thought.
A path well worn, doesn't mean it's the best path forward, it's just the easier path to follow.
At the time I went into it I wasn't really bothered whether I ended up with more DEC or BUSD since SPS wasn't a thing then. CUB was also doing a lot better than it is now. But then DEC sky rocketed and I lost thousands. So much for the relative safety of being pooled with a stable coin. 😂
Then I totally lost confidence in my managing the whole liquidity pool thing and so left it there. I probably should have switched to the SPS:DEC one ages ago but c'est la vie.
The APR is rubbish too. I'm probably the only person still in it. 😂
Same for me except my way is just to keep plodding on. 😂

I was staking until about two weeks ago. Been keeping all I've made since then liquid. Unless it changes a lot, for the past two weeks my staked amount will get me 51 vouchers, so if I choose to do so I can buy enough packs to get the exculsive drop. As for what I'm keeping liquid, I'll see what happens the first few days and go from there.
As to what I expect... chaos! hype! madness! heh. I don't know. I would expect prices of everything to spike initially, then probably back down, after tha... no idea. Will be fun to watch, anyway.
Sounds like a sound strategy. Sit back and watch the fireworks. haha
Honestly I'm surprised there hasn't been as much movement in staked SPS as I expected, but everyone's enjoying one more airdrop before they commit to staking.
Let the fun begin...
I staked it all the day before the voucher airdrop and at the start of the drop I unstaked all of it so I'll get paid out in tranches over the course of the month. My thinking is that the voucher prices will steadily decline and SPS may steadily rise over the month, so perhaps I can catch the best of both worlds with this strategy. !PIZZA
