Splinterlands Art Contest │Divine Healer

Hola, amigos. Hoy quiero mostrarles un dibujo que realicé, para el Splinterlands Art Contest de esta semana, inspirado en el cubismo. Para esta ocasión, elegí a Divine Healer, una "curandera de los Khymianos, que puede aliviar los síntomas de cualquier dolencia a partir de medicamentos sintetizados". Fuente.

Hello, friends. Today I want to show you a drawing I made for this week's Splinterlands Art Contest, inspired by cubism. For this occasion, I chose Divine Healer, a "healer from the Khymians, who can alleviate the symptoms of any ailment from synthesized medicines". Source.

Me llamó la atención este personaje por su parecido a los Nativos Americanos. Al principio, pensé hacerlo de forma realista, pero esta tarde cuando me senté a dibujar, me atreví a hacer algo que tenía en mente desde hace tiempo: un dibujo cubista. Sabía que mi inexperiencia en esta área sería un inconveniente, por lo que busqué un libro sobre la vida y obra de Pablo Picasso que tenía a la mano y luego de ver varias pinturas comencé a dibujar este personaje.

This character caught my attention because of its resemblance to Native Americans. At first, I thought of doing it realistically, but this afternoon when I sat down to draw, I dared to do something I had had in mind for a long time: a cubist drawing. I knew that my inexperience in this area would be a drawback, so I looked for a book on the life and work of Pablo Picasso that I had on hand and after looking at several paintings I began to draw this character.

Hacer el boceto inicial fue más fácil de lo que pensaba, porque sin darme cuenta me divertí en el proceso y todo fluyo como el agua. Por supuesto, mi intención solo era hacer algo cercano a esta técnica. Luego de terminar el boceto, remarqué las líneas con bolígrafo negro y esperé llegar a casa para ponerme a editar en Photoshop.

Making the initial sketch was easier than I thought, because without realizing it I had fun in the process and everything flowed like water. Of course, my intention was only to do something close to this technique. After finishing the sketch, I outlined the lines with black pen and waited to get home to start editing in Photoshop.

Tras digitalizar el boceto, comencé a colorear y retocar algunas líneas que habían quedado mal hechas, sin excederme; quería que el dibujo quedará lo más parecido al que hice a mano. Luego pinté de blanco los contornos de la parte negra de la ropa, reduje la opacidad de esa capa y elegí un fondo acorde con los colores del personaje.

After digitizing the sketch, I began to color and retouch some lines that had been poorly done, without overdoing it; I wanted the drawing to be as close as possible to the one I did by hand. Then I painted in white the contours of the black part of the clothes, reduced the opacity of that layer and chose a background according to the colors of the character.

Una vez terminado este proceso, hice el sombreado del dibujo y agregué varios retoques de luz para que se viera más lleno de vida el personaje. Por último, subí un poco la saturación del dibujo y terminé el trabajo. Me ha gustado el resultado, pues me parece un personaje que transmite paz, tal vez por su sonrisa. Espero les haya gustado.

Once this process was finished, I did the shading of the drawing and added several light retouches to make the character look more full of life. Finally, I increased a little the saturation of the drawing and finished the work. I liked the result, because it seems to me a character that transmits peace, maybe because of his smile.
