My latest collage – “To the moon” – minted as NFT on the Hive blockchain
Here is another of my handmade paper collage artworks recently completed, which I call “To the moon” and you can see why. Once I complete the paper art work, made using pictures, scissors and glue, I scan the A4 image and upload it to my computer. I then mint a copy, or three copies, on the Hive blockchain at www.nftshowroom.com/julianhorack and add it to my personal gallery.
In this way the paper artwork becomes a digital art piece and a “non-fungible token” or cryptocurrency asset in its own right. All my NFT collage artworks are for sale to be bought in Hive coin, my current cryptocurrency of choice. The value I place on each work is commensurate with the time and effort I put in as well as the value of my skill as an artist. Even though I only ask for example 21 Hive coins for one of the three editions or mintings of this NFT artwork, true value is really in the eye of the beholder.
Fortunately Hive coin may only be worth half a dollar now, but in time it will return to it’s previous all time high (ATH) of $2- or even $3 per coin. In that way I only ask a small price for what I create and yet I earn a greater value by keeping the Hive coin earned until it gains significant value before selling it. So feel inspired to purchase this artwork for pennies on the dollar, for it is worth more than its current value to me intrinsically. You will gain a permanent NFT artwork for your metaverse virtual reality gallery wall.
The theme of this work – “To the moon” – follows on from my earlier pieces, where we can see the sci-fi or fantasy imagery prominent. The space theme is a favorite of mine. So too is the opulence and treasure seen in this piece. It is a fantasy of someone like me who buys and holds several cryptocurrency coins, to see them one day go “to the moon” as the saying goes.
In other words I foresee these assets of mine becoming much more valuable and attaining new all time highs. So I create the visionary impression of my dreams by depicting the space cadet who would be going to the moon and beyond in his space suit, while having in hand the abundant valuable treasures discovered on the journey.
I originally expected the cryptocurrency market to peak last new year, six months ago. It did, but not at my expected price. So I held my coins only to see their value drop significantly this year, in true volatile crypto style. Nevertheless I still hold the coins and they will regain their great value, only time is separating us.
Therefore my fantasy artwork will become a reality, presumably by year end, in another six months. Worst case scenario would be for the bear market to continue until the bitcoin halving in 2024 and then only resume its uptrend. We will wait and “hodl” on until this fantasy artwork becomes a reality and the space cadet is flush with an abundance of coin once more.
That said, I certainly do not worry about sales of my art to feel fulfilled as an artist. I create because I love to. This is art for art’s sake and for my own personal pleasure. You can make of it what you will. Life reaches its perfection in art and philosophy. The rest is more like survival or the ability to simply create a bigger fire.
Dance, music and art, along with philosophical inquiry into the nature of reality, life and the absolute truth, are the real perfections of the human form of life. The rest is still nothing more than polished animal behaviour, namely better eating, sleeping, mating and defending. Art and mystical enlightenment are what defines us as humans compared to animals. That and language, of course, which is another form of art when used to tell a story.

Nice work on that one. Making an nft of your art surely feels like the current best thing to do in these times
Very cool, love this new collage, in the future if you blog about your HIVE NFTs try to use the tag #nftshowroom, we have a curation with OCD and it will help us find them :)
Hey there many thanks for your positive feedback. I will use the hashtag as you suggest.
Epic NFT - I love this style mixing different images and with lots of detail going on (I guess I like complicated things - hence why I use modular synths) and super impressive that it's made with real paper.
Anyway thanks for sharing! Found you via @stickupcurator
