Mind Underneath
I'm actually having a lot of fun with these portraits now, I might have discovered something new I like to do.
Alright, no more potential ProgRock album cover, time to switch to something else. This time, I'm gonna create (I am creating actually) a series of different portraits using different effects I created with geometry nodes in Blender. I kept the proximity-scaling effect, but with a twist and another form of geometry destruction on this one.
I was going for something completely different on the final result (which will be my next post tomorrow by the way), and this piece is basically one happy accident. The rotation of each curve got canceled out by a wild math node I placed at the wrong position, and they all faced upward. WOW, said I, it looks like a cyber glitchy thingy art! I love it!
So here we are.
Material wise, I have changed the background much beside the colour, the lighting and the normals since the last one, but for the model itself, there's been a few things.
Firstly, I started playing with sub surface scattering, which I usually don't do because it turns my computer into a potatoe (the next image has been rendering for 10h as I am writing this and is not finished yet...)
Then, the subtle hue in colours on the model is a mix of different fresnel, AO and roughness maps, creating this more interesting kind of blueish mixmax.
I hope you enjoy!
