Virgen del Panecillo - Line Art

Luego del monumento a la mitad del mundo, el segundo elemento turístico más reconocido de la ciudad es La Virgen del Panecillo, y para el quiteño es uno de los símbolos que más les caracteriza.

Inspirado en esta figura, quería realizar una ilustración line-art para representar una de las cosas con las que más se hacen chistes, bromas y frases en la ciudad que me acogió.

After the monument to the middle of the world, the second most recognized tourist element of the city is La Virgen del Panecillo, and for the Quiteño it is one of the symbols that most characterizes them.

Inspired by this figure, I wanted to make a line-art illustration to represent one of the things with which most jokes, jokes and phrases are made in the city that welcomed me.

Como siempre decidí hacer un boceto rápido a Lápiz, con esto tener como referencia algo para llevar a ilustrator.

Una vez ahí la cosa es mucho más sencilla, solo trazar líneas y utilizar círculos para ir formando la figura que deseaba crear; Realmente ya en esta etapa me gustaba mucho.

As always I decided to make a quick pencil sketch, with this I could have as a reference something to transfer to illustrator.

Once I was there the thing is much simpler, just draw lines and use circles to form the figure I wanted to create; I really liked it a lot at this stage.

Y tocaba ponerle color y algunos otros detalles, por lo que decidí colocarle el color arena a la base y un color plateado a la figura, justo como es realmente; Decidí agregarle un color de fondo que hiciese resaltar la figura, y agregar algo de flora verde a la base, otra cosa característica de Quito, tener plantas por todas partes.

And it was time to add color and some other details, so I decided to put the sand color to the base and a silver color to the figure, just as it really is; I decided to add a background color to highlight the figure, and add some green flora to the base, another characteristic of Quito, to have plants everywhere.
