We all know the grandeur of the art of masters like Da Vinci and Michelangelo. With its overwhelming capacity to surprise even today in its pieces, even though they have been created for centuries. And what, in addition, their art does not lose validity because it is undeniable how their talents transcended.

However, today, I want to go further and talk about art that violates its concept and forces us to go much deeper into the human psyche. Art that is not only "beautiful" but also challenges our ability to interpret and no, I am not talking about Picasso or Dalí and their surrealism. I am referring to the most limiting art, the one that elevates us towards abstract thought.

And from that art, find its value. Which could well be none or a multimillionaire, to the point where it is invaluable in and of itself. And for this I myself have done the test within the digital revolution that we are witnessing.like the Metaverse, The Hivefest, NFT and other digital projects.

We value what we understand, what we identify with and become part of ourselves. This is where our interests come in to give it value. Same goes for money. It is not so much what it is but what it is worth and is worth for the concept we have of it. Implicitly we know that money represents goods, obtaining, prestige, opportunities, well-being and commitment, suffering and much more, it depends on the approach, but the reality is that it is only a paper with drawings that we elevate to a special concept, to the point that there are those who they live and die by and for him.

Art is the same. We could consider them almost twin brothers. And they are interrelated in my explanation, but you will see that later.

There is a part of art, which is highly criticized because its essence is to be irreverent and absurd in itself. It could be, at first glance, nonsense. This is where our abstract thinking and the sensitivity of our soul are required to grasp it. Stay with me and let's find out together.

I will take as an example, the avant-garde musical work by John Cage, "4′33". Which is composed of four minutes, thirty-three seconds of silence. Yes, a musical piece composed of silence. Does it seem absurd, right? There are pauses in the music, which generate a drama or make room for the impact of when the song is going to “explode.” Which means that silence plays a crucial role. That is where this piece presents its challenge, since the presentation of the silence as the protagonist and not as a supporting actor. Furthermore, it suggests questions such as is there really silence? Or by being silent do we give space to listen to other things around us?

The same happens in other arts: theater. With the theater of the absurd whose teacher is the Frenchman Albert Camus and talking about him is also talking about literature, philosophy and social struggles. Because the theater of the absurd questions society and the human within it through existentialist proposals. Where incoherence, nonsense and illogical are used to generate reflection.

There are cases like Piero Manzoni and his piece "Merda d’ Artista ", which in 1961 turned a metal can with his excrement into" priceless "art. And in 2008, an auction house sold it for 125 thousand euros. What does that say about money? And about art of course, isn't a can full of excrement a social criticism of the consumer system? where we pack and massively buy whatever has a nice name, a nice logo, nice colors, without ever knowing what's inside.

Irreverent, meaningless, absurd, expensive art usually carries an innovative premise behind it. And I always admired that idea. To carry a message, because I think that's what we exist for. To stay in the form of a message, concept, idea, feeling, learning within at least one person who meets us in our life.

I created "Emo Boy" in the NFT format, which means that it is a non-fungible token and it is an asset that is unique, that cannot be modified and cannot be exchanged for another of equal value, because one would not exist . All thanks to the wonders of technology and the internet. This is the past. An NFT, we can't change it.

"Emo boy" is a drawing made in 2010. It was my third Facebook profile photo, when the insecurity of my adolescence prevented me from showing myself. So art was my sample. Belonging to a subculture was finding a safe place and at that age is all you need. Find others and identify yourself. Share the rarity of your emotions and discoveries.

Back then, being emo was the way to justify wearing makeup, longer-than-standard hair, and painting your nails. At that time I was a boy, now I am a girl. Many things have changed, the past is gone, but it retains a very special value. I will never draw like this again.

And also I put the price of 1111 dollars. One of my favorite numbers, why? because that's how art is, it seems crazy, you have to be insane to be part of it and proportionally just as free. You do it simply because you can do it, why not? If now I am free.

Can't we place value on the free market? What value is art? Is the technique or the message worth more? If the piece I have created is unique, certifiably unique and also has the justification for my proposal attached to it: The past. As we all wear it. Which I consider, to a certain degree, absurd, valid and profound because that is how contradictory humans are, living submerged between the past, the present and the future.

Nothing may happen and that doesn't change either. It is a symbolic, cathartic sale, but if by chance someone decides to own it and buy it, it will be the past that changed my life. Why? Because life is just as absurd and contradictory. Those things happen and that's the fun of it all. Be alive, be free, fun and absurd releasing the past that will reward you.
