Celebrating My One Year Anniversary in Hive

Hi Hivians

I am happy!
Yesterday night @hivebuzz wished me a "Happy Hive Birthday"; this made my day because I woke up to see the notification.

It is really a beautiful experience here on #hive and I'm glad to share how the journey has been.

How it started

I know I've shared this story several times in my blog, though in different ways. It all began from relationship to skill discovery, then I joined #hive. I have been hearing about the platform from my friends and family but I never had interest in it because of what I heard about the platform. I was told it is like a blog, immediately, I assumed it was all about writing, which I hated so much. Until one fateful day when my mentor, @uyobong saw the images I captured with my phone. I told him how passionate I was in photography, especially with the use of mobile phones; he asked how much I've earned from my pictures, that was when I got confused. I tried to understand how one earns from photography. I actually did them for fun when expecting earnings. This was when I was told that people earn from what they love doing in #hive. Out of curiosity to know more about it and share my talents, I was guided on how to create an account; BOOM 💥 I had a #hive account.

The Journey

The journey has being a bumpy one but it is something to be grateful about; I know lots of people who have been delivered from poverty through #hive. In my first entry, I met new friends. I had good upvotes from huge contributors like @ocd after making every quality post. In the comment section, I was shared a link containing the guidelines for the platform.

I began to explore, learn and discover new skills. From the photography I began with, I learnt how to write, I began to venture into crypto. Through #leofinance, I understood certain things related to finance; #splinterlands introduced me to a #play2earn activity. It was surprising! I was able to play card games, rent my cards et al and earn from it. I can remember sharing some documentaries in the #3speak community.

What Next?

Since when I joined #hive, I've become a better person because I've been able to multitask (combining my academics and #hive). My school activities have caused me to be inconsistent in engaging the platform, though I do my best to read more posts, learn, upvotes, reblog, trade et al. So far, I've learnt they are many avenues to earn and this makes the platform an outstanding #web3 platform. I know #hive has come to stay, so I'm not in a haste; rather, all I have to do is to connect with more friends and learn about the latest development in the platform.

My Hurts

Since when I was punished for plagiarism, I haven't been getting good upvotes and it made me down for some days. Aside from that, I was muted in the q-inspired community for violating the rules. All this happened within my one year in #hive while trying to adhere and understand each rule of every community and the platform in general. I definitely honestly wish to be forgiven.

My Achievements

Within one year, I have been able to build a reputation of over 62 with a HP of over 340 and also connect with great Hivians.

My Benefits

Even being sad, I kept motivating myself to keep engaging the platform and build its communities. While doing that, I got to know about #leofinance and #Splinterlands communities where huge contributors like @leo.voter and @steemmonsters also vote quality posts. Their upvotes went a long way to meet my financial needs in the university.

As a way of contributing to their projects, I promise to stake over 3000 in #leo, #sps and #GLX tokens in the next one year. These tokens are earnings the the #leofinance and #Splinterlands community.

I love the platform I am on! I'm all out to keep it standing. If you ask me what is to me, I call it my BANK.
