Don't Be Fooled By The Unrefined Look Of Venari Marksrats

The Martyr ability of VENARI MARKSRAT has brought a new twist to the game, it is uncommon to wish for a monster card to be eliminated on the battlefield but the introduction of VENARI MARKSRAT brings about the wish for Martyr ability cards to be eliminated sooner on the battlefield and in the case MARKSRAT.

It was an Earthquake with an Explosive Weaponry ruleset, which isn't suitable for MARKSRAT but it finds itself in my lineup due to the Martyr ability of which monsters adjacent it will be the beneficiary of added stats following his elimination.

Let's see how the battle panned out.

The Summoners

WIZARD OF EASTWOODEarth-2 Armor
My SummonerElementAbility
MOTHER KHALALife+1 Health

In a fairly high mana battle of 45 a PELACOR CONJURER isn't a card you'd expect I use as my Tank but it was my Tank for the Flight and Magic Reflect ability it possesses. I wished it stayed in the frontline longer so VENARI MARKSRAT could benefit from the Resurrection ability of BRIGHTWING.

URIEL THE PURIFIER itched for the Tank spot but had to start the battle from the second spot in the lineup with the hope of getting added stats from MARKSRAT. URIEL went on to become a more dangerous beast than he is with 12 melee damage against enemy monsters.

not an appealing look and neither is the bow to scare anyone but VENARI MARKSRAT is a skilled archer with precision.

The Lore has something to say about VENARI MARKSRAT'S precision.

Their crude bows are fashioned out of branches and saplings. Don't be fooled by their unrefined look, though. These skilled archers can still hit a fleeing rabbit at a hundred yards with precision. They hunt alone or in packs, and if you ever manage to spot one, you can guarantee they saw you first and have been watching you for some time.

Venari Marksrat's elimination in the second round was the added advantage URIEL and BOSUN sought to become more brutal.

CORSAIR BOSUN is a worthy card for the 10 mana cost, the 4 melee damage, the speed, and the armor in addition to the Reach and Reflection Shield abilities makes CORSAIR BOSUN a tough choice of card to leave out of my lineups. It attacked from the second position after starting the battle in the fourth position.

image.png

ADELADE BRIGHTWING was a suitable card for this battle of the Flight ability it possesses, also BRIGHTWING is equipped with Repair and Resurrect abilities that are of great help to the lineup.

image.png

In the back line is GARGOYA DEVIL with attacks from range. It is interesting now that this card can only be purchased and is no longer available for rewards. I managed to get up to level 6 of it if I combine all which is quite decent.
So GARGOYA DEVIL delivered the Deathblow on the enemy SCREECHING VULTURE to wrap up the battle.

I just love watching these higher league battles, not only because of the many ability/ruleset combinations but cos they also provide good info on what cards players are using. So I'm kinda scouting what cards could have more demand in the future.

Thanks for sharing!

Thank you, I also feel the same when I watch battles of higher leagues like Diamond or Champion, they are battles on another level that gets me wishing my cards are on those levels. What league do you play in?

If you are able to spot some cards that will be in demand in the future and you load up on them, they will pay off immensely for you.

I'm currently in Bronze, pretty soon moving to Silver.

True. Checking out stats & abilities of maxed-out cards also. It's good to see players using the Pelacor family cards, maybe we'll see them gaining more value in the future despite the high circulating supply.

One other thing is the Land of course and what kinda demand it might create...

Great keep building your deck, they grow over time.
The Pelacors and Venaris are high in circulation but they possibly could be in demand if we could get another influx of Splinterlands sign-ups as we had in 2021.

I think Land is going to need lots of cards so I am keenly waiting for its full launch, I only have a plot, always regret not buying more.

Cheers!

I've started to prepare for Land by getting some older edition cards cos of the multiplayer, buying those that I need for gameplay. A new wave of outside players would be awesome! That in mind and just in case I'm collecting those Venaris and Pelacors + some others I believe would be essential for new players.

Nice win and great use of the Martyr ability. It definitely helped in that drawn out battle with your opponent.

Thanks, the Martyr ability has given us more strategic options on the battlefield, I think we should be up for surprises now and then from opponents.
