Fine Art Firehose of Bright Cryptoart Colors Tells a Story

If you string together all the pieces of rare digital art that a person has ever made (or collected), it tells a story. Great value lies in the story.

Here are a number of different artworks I painted and released as rare digital art NFTs in ArtVndngMchn Series 3 on the WAX blockchain. Aside from all being in the same art collection, what else do they have in common? Take even a quick look and it might become obvious. Can you see the story behind this work?

Loads of bright colors with black/white used sparingly
When I use color, I often like to turn up all the neon out-of-the-box brightness that I can muster. Seeing my recently finished pieces reminds me of a belief I have, yet rarely state. As a cartoonist on Silly Daddy Comics, I used to work panel-by-panel on mostly black and white comic book tales until the story was finished. Why just black and white? Because in those days it was cheaper to mass produce and bring to the print market a black and white comic book, and also because I liked the minimalistic nature of black and white for storytelling. Ironically, I still see the way I release non-comic art now as an extension... or evolution of that same black and white comics process.

Why are my new non-comics a direct extension of my old comics?

1. All those years just drawing in black and white left a pent-up firehose of color just waiting to be unleashed.
2. Not all stories are told in book form.

The second point needs a little further explanation. Instead of applying my old creative comic book making process, with panels being neatly and orderly laid out on pages of a book, now they are ordered a little differently. No longer telling a play-by-play narrative comic book story, my artwork from the past few decades tells the highlights, from variable moments in time.

Today these artworks are also scattered across the blockchain as cryptoart, across the metaverse as an experience, and across my mind as a fleeting record of the moment. Perhaps some day an art historian (or one of my descendants) will gather them all together in one big book, just like in the days of old. And what new story would these individual tales tell?
