Week 329 | My Splinterlands Art Contest Entry | Goblin Chef

Hello! πŸ‘‹πŸ»

How's the week so far? 😊 Hope you are all doing fine.

For this week, I chose Goblin Chef. I took a break from human and humanoid this time, hehe. I thought I would be a chill one for this week. As I was doing this art, I was thinking about the new rule for the art contest. I also talked to some of my artist friends about it. I believe that the new rule will always give the best result of the platform and of the community.

Art Process

A goblin chef was not particularly easy to find a reference. I was looking for something same proportion as the card. I avoided the anime style for now as I just want to takeit easy this time as I said. I experienced art burnout before and it was a hard time.

For the sketch, I used a blue pen for later on traced using a "kuro" brush downloaded on the asset store.

I then used a color-picker to copy the color from the original card. I just adjusted the saturation to fit the overall art. I then added a new layer clipped for the shadows and shine. I used airbrush, blur brush, and cell shading pen.

I intensified more of the shines especially on the smoke coming out from the cauldron. To give another dimension of color, I added orange and purple which complemented the green.

Final Art

The final stage is putting the added nuances like the glitters and the bubbles. I used a glow brush to make them pop, and then blurted out some bubbles to make a dimension.

Finished art! ✨
