Splinterlands Social Media Challenge! | Wood Nymph

Hello, Summoners! 🥳

This is my fifth time joining the contest! Holy cow~ I am beat up after finishing the art but I still have to do the blog (not complaining).🤣 In between, I was with a chat with Discord friends. 🤣 We were just talking about our day~ nothing much to talk about really, haha!

Anyway~

In this week's entry, I chose Wood Nymph to draw in chibi style! Here is the original card.

A chibi has a different body proportion. Usually, chibi has a big head and small body. Just think of it as a baby. 😌 This make them uber cute! 🥰 I used two different colors for the sketch. Red for the hair and clothing, and then dark blue for the body. The character is easy to copy. It feels like an forest ethereal. 🍃

Time for the base colors~ I chose a dark navy blue background to compliment the color of the hair and the body. The colors are just color-picked from the original card character. I like the pop of the red flower, just to balance it all out. 🌺

On the background, I just added a little texture just to not make it flat and boring.

The eyes were fun to make. The sclera for this character is black. Kind of creepy if it real, yikes~ The Iris is blue and black pupil. I added some glow highlights in the eyes. I individually drew both eyes for this chibi.

For the shading, I chose a darker shade from the base color. The shading is not that deep since it is a chibi. I added some blueish green for the highlights on the body. Same for the hair, I just added more strokes of hair highlights.

Final Art

I added a rectangle border for more background detail, plus sparkles~

The water is combination of shades of blue and white. I just blend them together to appear like a wave. To save time, I just copy and paste them. Tadaa~ instand water. Then some glows from the water reflecting to the chibi's legs~
