Art Process

I was thinking of a beta fish or a goldfish for reference. There is a funny fish that I found, but I think I will save that for another art.😆 Look here! I first made a rough sketch of the fish's pose, and what the fins would look like. I used a solid pencil for the lineart. I made the inner lines thinner to make the lineart more interesting.

I first colored the eyes to match the original art. Choosing the right shade of blue for the fish took me time. 😅 The color looks like a bit of cobalt- ish color, later, I will add a compliment color.

I added another layer on top of the base color for some shade of cyan blue. I used an airbrush to make a soft coloring. I added a little color green too. Usually, blue and orange go well together. On the color wheel, they are the opposite of each other. There are actually different color complement techniques, such as triadic, analogous, etc. Colors also contribute to the overall art, so it is important that colors are pleasing to the eyes.

Final Art

I added some shadowings to the body by clipping a layer, picking the base color, setting it to multiply mode, and setting the opacity to 50 percent. Added some yellow orbs and set it to blur.
