🏝️ What excites me the most about WOO's first territory sale 🤩
Getting involved with a project before it's officially launched is always a risk. Whether buying a condo preconstruction, or aping into a crypto game.
WOO, or Wresting Organization Online, is set to launch its main game later this year. Yet I am still excited (and have a vested interest) in these major milestones.
What excites me the most is the WOO team's proven ability to generate fun. Not profits, or deals. Fun! And this land sale is fun.
I mean, it's a game, right? Wrestling itself is a form of entertainment and physical theatre. Fun—this feeling of excitement and joy and good cheer—that's no small feat nor no small factor in creating a successful gaming product.
And even before this land sale release, the team has found ways to engage the community, make reward drips and incentives interesting, and have good plain fun along the way. The CEO of @wrestorgonline, Booker, is not shy about getting on voice or camera (another good sign: the leadership isn't anonymous). There's a growing and vibrant Hive community forming around WOO. Friendly competition, deep stats nerding, and person-to-person support. I've even used the $WOO token in some of my read-to-earn giveaways (and will do so again!)
If I'm going to throw my crypto weight behind anything in this wacky rollercoaster of a Web3 World, it might as well be fun. I have a mortgage and an RRSP for those "boring but smart" investment plays 😜.
A bit about Land itself:
For the long and very useful version, please see the WOO Land: Complete Utility Guide.
In a nutshell, WOO Land NFTs will offer holders passive income opportunities—every time someone plays a match in the WOO Game, they need to do it somewhere. The show must be held at some kind of venue. The land owner will collect a 'gate fee' from every show held on their land.
The amount will depend on how many shows are held on your land and how big those shows are. So folks will have incentive to upgrade their land in hopes of attracting larger shows.
The Land packs going on sale tomorrow (Feb 14 at 9AM EST) will have one randomized Land NFT inside. I've made a table below what describes the reported odds of pulling Land with different total star values—more is generally better (but anything with 7 through 9 stars is quite good).
The "normal" column is what the odds would be if the team didn't tweak the rarity to make the better land rarer (WOO respects rarity!) Delta shows the difference in percentage point, with negative values meaning "they made it more rare."
⭐ Stars | Odds | Normal | Delta |
---|---|---|---|
3 | 6% | 3.7% | +2% |
4 | 15% | 11.1% | +4% |
5 | 24% | 22.2% | +2% |
6 | 35% | 26% | +9% |
7 | 12% | 22.2% | -10% |
8 | 6% | 11.1% | -5% |
9 | 2% | 3.7% | -2% |
So the curve is skewed towards the crappier land, which makes sense. But you'll notice that there's a combined 20% (or 1 in 5) odds of landing a 7 star or better land. Of course, the odds may have changed or I could've screwed up my math or memory. So take all this with a giant grain of salt :)
Anyway. I'm excited. I invite you come see what all the fun's about—whether it's now or later this year when WOO really starts getting going. Good luck to all those who are primed and ready to go for tomorrow's sale!
Thank you for the information, I actually dint know WOO was coming, so now Im gonna take a look deep into it and will get to play if possible :)
I'm glad you found this informative! @wrestorgonline's posts are the place to go for the best up to date information. And if you like what you see, then joining the WOO Discord is a great next step.
I try not to join gaming discords as most of them are just spam xD but I might join just during dev time to see how it is going :) Thanks for the tips and the information.
Thanks for sharing and information dude. It looked interesting😀I hope it will be an enjoyable game for those who will play it🤗
