A river can’t split it, and the trees can do all but decorate it.” She flicked her strand of baubles. They jangled against her upper arm.

Then he was out of her and off of her, and curious to know if he was going to be staying at all, wherein she explained her early start in the morning and the terrible need to sleep solitary. Maybe she’d see him tomorrow night. He hoped so.

Here is my entry for this round. I would term this para as a juiciest description of Bettine's non-verbal communication. lol 😅

“Afterwards then.” Bettine put her hands on her hips. The butt of her little blaster stuck out of her cloak at an angle, polished to a gleam. She licked her lips, nodded once, then spat. “Our advance teams will be arriving and getting into position tonight. The rest tomorrow, trickling in over the course of the day. Then all teams ready by sundown. Did you get a good look at the tree farm?”

His stomach woke up too, gurgling displeasure. He felt the gravity of sleep beckoning him back. Frix forced himself to stand, resolving to get his stupid ass into a tree before something with sharper teeth decided to come by.

My line favorite is:

Annoyed, June floated the stone towards her hand, caught it and put it in a pocket. It looked like her rendezvous with the Falsesparkers was going to be sooner rather than later. She did a wide lap around her lodge, seeing if anyone else had spotted the projectile. Someone said good morning, and that was it.
