Just finished Ch4.2, enjoyed the vivid scenery.

Sporadic expanses of grassy field gave way to loose corridors of dusty vegetation, which gave way to well traveled, hard packed streets of dirt. The smell of canvas and town-stink closed in.

Here is my entry

“But what if xey slip out of your sleuthing circle? Or aren’t even in a town but in the Callipsus’ blanket of endless flora and chomping fauna? It’s a near endless leafscape out there. Lots of holes and nooks and teeth and stingers.”

When this kind of situation boils between two friends, things go pretty intense. My line for the contest is what I feel is the most interesting in the end.

“Your family slashed itself into my seedblessed chest, I—” he stopped. “Sorry. Sorry but I can’t go along with this.”

As sleep grabbed him, greedy and uncompromising, he said, “I’m almost there.” Maybe she’d hear.

Took your sweet time on that all-clear, Bit, said Dreff of Tel. His big black hat was strapped to his back, the wide brim a dark halo around his hard, humourless face.

My line favorite is:

Leaves and branches slapped at him, his feet came down on bad angles and caught sharp rocks and stubbing roots. He barely felt it, because he could feel the red fountain. He couldn’t see the lines, but there was a soft tingle and lift in his heart.
