Splinterlands: Immortalis and Kron is a powerful combination In Keep Your Distance
Splinterlands is a complex game and it allows for various different cards and strategies. Each fight is different as there are various different rulesets applied and this can give specific cards an advantage depending on how you use them. In this post, I talk about a great battle where I won because I used Kron the Undying.
Featured cards
Kron the Undying is a earth monster that costs 10 mana. It starts with heal. It learns divine shield at level 2 and last stand at level 3. It's been a while since I used this card, but this card is insanely good due to heals and stats. I used it quite often in decently high mana cap matches and depending on the situation. After moving to modern, I haven't used it since, but I am glad to use this card again.
Immortalis is a earth summoner that gives -1 health, void, and shatter. It's a fairly good legendary summoner with those abilities and it can synergize well with some cards.
Rule Set, Battle, and Plan

The ruleset this time is Keep Your Distance, Reverse Speed, and Hive Five. This means that no melee monsters can be used, up to 5 monsters can be used, and the turn order is reversed. There is also 21 mana available, and I can use earth, life, or dragon splinter splinter.
Splinter | Mana Cost | Position | Reason |
---|---|---|---|
Immortalis | 6 | Summoner | -1 health, Void, and Shatter |
Kron the Undying | 10 | 1st | Heal |
Wood Nymph | 4 | 2nd | Tank Heal |
Creeping Ooze | 1 | 3rd | Slow |
Total Mana: | 21 |
I use Immortalis for its abilities. Kron the Undying is my tank because it can heal itself, and my summoner will reduce its magic damage taken. After that is Wood Nymph with tank heal and Creeping Ooze with slow. I mistakenly chose Ooze in hindsight, as it's a reverse speed battle. I should have gone with the thorns monster instead to deal with some of the sneak damage that I could take.
Round 1
At first glance, I think that I have the advantage in this match. My opponent just won't be able to deal enough damage to kill Kron because of my heals. I can heal up to 6 health per turn, and my opponent's maximum damage is only 4.
I ended up winning this match a few rounds later, just as I expected. My opponent couldn't kill off Kron, and it was just a matter of time before I wiped him out.
Conclusion
The battle this time played out exactly how I thought it would. Since you could not use melee monsters, I was left with magic and ranged monsters. With Immortalis as my summoner, I could halve the magic damage taken, and with 21 mana available, my opponent would not have many strong monsters. By using Kron with an extra healer, I was able to easily outheal the damage. If my opponent used ranged monsters instead, I would have to gamble on killing enough monsters to move them up front so they can't attack. Either way, this combination was quite deadly in Keep Your Distance and a low mana cap.
You can see my entire match here.
What did you think of my match? Was there anything you would have done differently? I think it is quite interesting to see how different players use the same card.

It's a great combo for sure, unless the enemy has affliction like with the goblin, there you would need llama
Yea. Affliction is the killer of this lineup.
especially with last stand at higher level i don't remember, when I last played that combo maybe once, when was survival playable
Yea. When it has last stand, its even more powerful

Two cards with heal and a summoner with void magic?, no, certainly the opponent doesn't stand a chance in such a match. Great win for you. The Kron is a powerhouse
Yea. Kron is powerful. The only downside is that high mana cost.
