Splinterlands Engagement Challenge: Yaba’s Pickle and the Arcane Event Series
Every week there is a Splinterlands challenge that can be found in this week's post. I also encourage Splinterlands players to partake in the challenge because they get to learn about the game. In this week's challenge, we talk Yaba’s Pickle and the Arcane Event Series.
Yaba’s Pickle
There are 3 ways to get your hands on Yaba’s Pickle: The special SPS Stakeholders Pickle Release, the second opportunity is to purchase a pickle that comes with a GF Arcane Raffle ticket and the 3rd opportunity will be to participate in the Black Foil Arcane Auction.
Yaba’s Pickle is a new card only available in a few ways above. This new card is quite interesting, and it looks like it could be quite useful when it is max level. However, looking at the stats, I think it will be hard unless you max that card. The details can be found in this post.
From the stats above, we can see that it starts off with zero abilities. This makes it hard to think that anyone who gets a level 1 or 2 version of this card can do much with it. Yaba's Pickle learns dodge at level 3, shield at level 5, slow at level 8, and heal at level 10.
If you can get it high enough level, then this card lows to be quite the powerful tank so long as it is not hit by magic attacks. I also think that weapons training could make this card a decent damage dealer and backup tank. Overall, my thoughts on this card are that it is weak at the start, but it has a lot of potential if you level this card far enough so that it has shield. However, one benefit that this card has is the low mana cost. So this card can be used more often compared to those stronger cards.
Ways to get this card
Price: 150 DEC or 150 Credits per card
Each player will be eligible to purchase 1 card per 1,000 SPS staked at the time of the snapshot — so get staking
As mentioned above, there are three ways you can get this card. The first is a standard sale where each card is valued at 150 DEC/Credits. There is a 2% chance of gold foil and 0.025% chance of a black foil, but this can be doubled by using the corresponding potions.
🎟️ Raffle Ticket Crafting Cost:
200 Aura, 10 Vouchers, and 200 DEC
🔨 Auction Points Crafting Cost:
1000 Aura, 50 Vouchers, and 500 DEC
The second and third ways are through a raffle for the Gold and Black Foil, respectively. There will be 50 gold foil arcanes and 20 black foil arcanes being auctioned off for around 1 day each. It looks like Aura from land will be the most important part of this raffle, and it only gives people a chance of being picked. The cost for each Gold Arcane ticket is 200 Aura, 10 VOUCHERS, and 200 DEC, while the cost for each black arcane is 1000 Aura, 50 VOUCHERS, and 500 DEC. You can buy them from the open market, but once they are used to enter the raffle, they are burned.
Conclusion
Yaba’s Pickle is an interesting card as it has a lot of potential as a low mana card. Its lack of attack could always be helped by weapons training, but I think the largest disadvantage is its lack of abilities at a low level. Unless you get to level 5, I just don't think it's that useful to field this card, as there are other options available. They are using a new system to sell the cards, and I think the raffle is an interesting idea. Sure, buying multiple tickets improves your chances, but someone could always get lucky with just 1 ticket. I wonder how well this sale will go on the Arcana Event and Yaba's Pickle.
Are you planning to buy Yaba’s Pickle?

You've said it all... It's a decent strategy to sell the cards. Many players hop in, buy the cards and increase their opportunity. But it's not a bad strategy for splinterlands INC anyway.
Yea. I think its a good strategy to raise funds. I know they were struggling quite a bit with funds and this ends up benefitting most people involved.
