Splinterlands 40th Season of Glint, Merits and SPS

The Splinterlands season ended earlier this week so I want to review my rewards and check up on some things in the game. I didn't get as many fights as I would like in Modern because I have been more focused on Frontier. I decided to go back to my strategy before the cards in modern format changed, and decrease my league if I am close to the boundary. However, I wasn't close enough to that border this time around.

Season Rewards

I ended up with 6,252 Glint for last season, which is less than what I was getting before. I did not to Silver II like usual in Modern, and ended in Silver III this time around. It was just harder to move up, and losing matches due to multitasking didn't help. I am still spending most of my time in Frontier because I want to improve my deck there. My deck there is getting better, and most of my summoners over there are getting close to 3 stars.

I did get two league advancement rewards in Modern. I got more cads than last time, and best of all, I got a gold foil card. There were even two of them. So I think the rewards are decent despite getting one less advancement reward.

I went for one epic this time. I got quite a few rare cards last time, and I felt that getting some epic cards (which are rarer from advancement chests) was the better choice. The card that I got this time looks quite good. I can see myself using this card when I do play in Modern from time to time.

Gladius Packs

I got 6 packs this time around, and the opening seems decent, too. I got quite a few rare cards, but the best thing was that legendary card. It's too bad there were no gold foil cards, though.

I was able to upgrade Jini Guise to level 3. It gains the blind ability, but I don't see myself using this card much because I don't play Wild, and my Brawls are in the gold foil category.

The second card that I upgraded was Alfredo to level 6. It gains one more speed, and I think this is a fairly strong card. However, it has the same issue as I had with Jini above where I can't play the normal foil version of this card much.

SPS

My SPS rewards were far higher than last time. It looks like my Brawls have been amazing as that is where most of that SPS increase is coming from.

It doesn't look like the pool is coming back, so I might move the DEC out of my previous liquidity pool. I plan on staking all of my SPS I got from staking for a total of 113.923 SPS. The total SPS was around what I usually expected if I factor in the time difference.

Conclusion

This season had its good sides and bad sides. It's too bad that I didn't get to Silver II like I usually do, but I did manage to get a gold foil card off the chest advancement rewards. The gladius packs was decent as I got a legendary card for the first time in a while. The brawls seem to have been decent as it increased my SPS earnings this season. I'll have to see how things go and decide from there.
