Brawl Report #53 - My streak of all losses continue

Splinterland Brawls are a guild event where you can earn merits and SPS. This post serves as a way for me to review how my fights went and as a reminder to sign up for the next brawl. I have missed brawls in the past and it hurts when Gladius cards can now be used in ranked battles using the soulbound summoners. Rebellion has also changed the battles and I just keep losing my fights.

Brawl Result

I chose the gold foil modern brawl and got 2 losses. My rewards for the brawl were 2,889 merits and 28.385 SPS in the 3 star category. My guild ranked 5th place out of the 10 guilds there. I choose to take the gold foil modern brawl because my guild usually doesn't fill all their spots and I prefer to give my other guild members a chance at the brawls. I got wiped out but it looks like my guild members made up for my losing streak.

There were 2 that I lost. So I included an idea of what the match was below along with a few thoughts about it.

You can find the first match here. I lost this match because of a level disadvantage and my opponent also played a lot of legendary cards. I couldn't do too much to my opponent as his monsters were faster than mine and they dealt more damage than mine. I also got unlucky with my opponent's Chaos Dragon blasting away my resurrected monsters because it removed my protect. I was relying on that to cut down the damage from all the melee monsters.

You can find the second match here. I lost this match and I tried out one of the new summoners. I thought by using it, it could give me the necessary advantage and I got myself one that could give +2 range or shield on a good monster. It didn't work out the way I wanted though. I should have probably used slower monsters but I guess I thought my own lineup was strong enough. The scatter shot did mess up my plans a bit as well.

Conclusion

I think doing 2 fights for 2,889 merits and 28.385 SPS is a pretty good reward for the effort. I got destroyed this round in brawls and I just can't seem to get a win lately in 3 star brawls. My guild made up for it and got us 5th place though. Brawls are a great way of earning SPS and merit for the number of battles you participate in. So I think it is worthwhile for people to participate in these brawls. My current brawls are in the three star category. I am just sad that I am running another streak of losing all my fights. I wonder if this will continue or not with Rebellion out.
