Brawl Report #147: Getting destroyed in brawls

Splinterland Brawls are a guild event where you can earn merits and SPS. This post serves as a way for me to review how my fights went and as a reminder to sign up for the next brawl. I have missed brawls in the past and it hurts when Gladius cards can now be used in ranked battles using the soulbound summoners. 4 star brawls are rough as the teams tend to be stronger. I am still in the gold league gold foil matches and it was decent this time around. I got wrecked in my actual fights, but my guild did better this time around.

Brawl Result

I chose the gold foil modern Brawl and got 2 wins. This time, there were 1 free wins because one guild didn't submit a person for my brawl. My rewards for the brawl were 4,048 merits and 56.513 SPS in the 4-star category. My guild ranked 8th place out of the 9 guilds there. I choose to take the gold foil modern brawl because my guild usually doesn't fill all their spots, and I prefer to give my other guild members a chance at the brawls. My guild placed the same as last time, but we got more wins and we were tied for 7th place too.

Brawl fights

There were 6 that I lost and 1 that I won. So, I included an idea of the match below and a few thoughts about it.

You can find the first match here. I lost this match because my opponent had a stronger lineup. My opponent just had more damage and a healer as well.

You can find the second match here. I lost this match because my opponent had a stronger lineup. Once I lost my tanks, I started losing out on damage, and there wasn't much I could do.

You can find the third match here. I won this match because I had the stronger lineup. My opponent's monsters weren't tanky enough, and once I moved Katrelba up front, there was nothing my opponent could do.

You can find the fourth match here. I lost this match because my opponent had a stronger lineup. My opponent did a good job of focusing down my monsters, and he also had a level advantage.

You can find the fifth match here. I lost this match because my opponent had a stronger lineup. There isn't much to say when my opponent had increased damage, and he also had a level advantage.

You can find the sixth match here. I lost this match because my opponent had a stronger lineup. I didn't have many options, and I made a mistake by using so many slow monsters.

You can find the seventh match here. I lost this match because my opponent had a stronger lineup. The summoner made it hard for me to deal any damage, and I didn't have enough cards to take advantage of the mana cap.

Conclusion

Doing 8 fights for 4,048 merits and 56.513 SPS is a good reward for the effort. I didn't do so great, but I think my guild did way better this time around. We may have placed the same, but with more points, we also got better rewards. It's rough in brawls with the new cards added as well.
