Brawl Report #146: Not a bad brawl when I consider the free wins

Splinterland Brawls are a guild event where you can earn merits and SPS. This post serves as a way for me to review how my fights went and as a reminder to sign up for the next brawl. I have missed brawls in the past and it hurts when Gladius cards can now be used in ranked battles using the soulbound summoners. 4 star brawls are rough as the teams tend to be stronger. I am still in the gold league gold foil matches and it was decent this time around. I got wrecked in my actual fights, but the free wins helped me push into a positive win and loss ratio.

Brawl Result

I chose the gold foil modern Brawl and got 4 wins. This time, there were 1 free wins because two guilds didn't submit a person for my brawl. My rewards for the brawl were 3,048 merits and 47.438 SPS in the 4-star category. My guild ranked 8th place out of the 9 guilds there. I choose to take the gold foil modern brawl because my guild usually doesn't fill all their spots, and I prefer to give my other guild members a chance at the brawls. My guild did worse than last time, but my results were about average.

Brawl fights

There were 3 that I lost, 2 that I won, and 2 won due to surrender. So, I included an idea of the match below and a few thoughts about it.

You can find the first match here. I won this match because I had a stronger lineup. I am a bit surprised to see giant killer did such a good job of taking out my opponent's tank. After that, I was able to take out my opponent without too many issues.

You can find the second match here. I won this match because I had a stronger lineup. I was a bit worried about Grund, but I was able to stack enough bloodlust and that was the deciding factor.

You can find the third match here. I lost this match because my opponent had a stronger lineup. My opponent just overwhelmed me with damage. I was trying to rely on Coastal Sentry, but my tank died too fast from all the magic monsters.

You can find the fourth match here. I lost this match because my opponent had a stronger lineup. The speed disadvantage just hurts. My opponent went first and all the damage from the blast monsters just added up.

You can find the fifth match here. I lost this match because my opponent had a stronger lineup. There isn't much to say when my opponent decreased my ranged attack and there was a level disadvantage.

Conclusion

Doing 8 fights for 3,048 merits and 47.438 SPS is a good reward for the effort. I did better than last time in my fights, but the free wins helped carry me in this round. My guild didn't do so great as some of them have quit since Conclave Arcana came out.
