🏴Time to Potion Up!🏴

Midnight Potions doubles the chance of getting a Black Foil card when generating cards from Conclave Arcana packs. Each potion applies to a single card, so you may use up to 5 potions for each Conclave Arcana pack opened. These potions cannot be used with Starter Packs.

Unless you've been living in a cave or are new to our community, you know we have about a week left of the Splinterlands presale for the new pack, Conclave♦️Arcana. This is a big deal for many reasons. The first thing that comes to mind is that the Splinterlands team has already made over a million dollars from just this presale. This shows that Splinterlands is still a viable project even during a prolonged bear market. I'm sure there are plenty of Hive and tech/number-savvy folks who could back me up in saying that Splinterlands is the most important project here on Hive. If Splinterlands ever divorces itself from Hive, it would devastate the Hive price and daily active user count.

Another reason this new set is a game changer and what I'm most excited about is the new type of cards you can get, Black and Gold Arcane cards. You don't need Midnight Potions to get them, but they do double your chances, so I won't be opening any packs without them. I gladly paid a quarter for each one when they first came out, and am happy to see them drop down to less than a dime each today. I'm sure they'll get more expensive next week when lots of packs get opened, but it's cool to know that each purchase goes to players who've worked they're land and isn't just a money grab from the team. I know I won't get lucky enough to open a Black Foil Arcane Legendary card, which will be the only card in the game, a one out of one, but I can still hope. It will be fun watching the reactions of those who do find these cards during their streams, and it will be the best form of guerrilla marketing for the game.

I am what we call an unbanked individual. I am an American with a US passport, but because I don't like life in the US and would rather live a healthy and fulfilled life in Southeast Asia, and haven't been back to what I call the USSA in almost a decade, I'm treated like a scumbag because I have neither a driver's licence or any proof of residency in the USSA so getting a bank account that works with crypto is impossible with all their KYC crap. I have a job here teaching high school, but they pay in cash, and I have zero ways of converting that cash into crypto. I asked a few people at work who claim to be crypto bros like me for just a hundred bucks in LTC or any other crypto that I would've converted to LTC, then Hive later at Hive-Engine, but no one could help me out. I don't know if they didn't have the liquid funds, didn't want cash, or just didn't want to help me, but it made me feel like we're still living in the crypto dark ages. Long story short, I wasn't able to ape into this presale and the only liquid crypto I had was the 50,000 DEC on my Land, so I was only able to buy 14 Conclave♦️Arcana packs. I've only been able to buy 20 Midnight Potions so far, so it looks like I'm only going to be opening just 4 packs, getting just twenty of the new cards. While there may be some summoners, or what are now called Archons (We are the summoners now.) I'm going to have to rely on the weak Rebellion archons I currently have. Most of them are at level one, but I've got all the cheap ones to level two. It costs about $100 to get these guys up to MAX level, so I'll have to rent a MAX-level dragon archon every season until I can get better archons. Losing my MAX-level Chaos Legion cards to the Wild League is going to screw up my whole strategy and force me to start all over, but it will be the same for everyone else too. I'm sure a lot of people are in the same situation as me and won't have the cards to compete in the Modern league, will just bot in Wild, or will just quit the game completely, so the competition should be pretty soft.
