How many packs have you picked up from the presale so far? I was afraid that the new Black Arcana cards would generate tons of FOMO and the packs would sell out in less than an hour, so I set my alarm clock for a few minutes before 1 am and had my DEC ready to buy as many standard $4 packs as I could which turned out to be 14 packs. After seeing that the only useful thing I could do with my Land was to do research, I realized it was a lost cause and unstaked most of my DEC and pretty much gave up on it. I was earning about 1.7 research per hour and had accumulated around 3,000, but realizing that 10,000 research is required to create the new potion meant I'd need to wait another 171 days, so I threw in the towel. Now I'm sitting on 3,000 Research that was a total waste of time and worthless to me. Overall, Land has done nothing to improve my gaming experience with Splinterlands, but it did get me out of a jam a few years ago because I had 3 plots of Land and was able to sell two of them for a few hundred bucks each which was enough to cover my yearly visa so I've got no hard feelings about Land, but it has been a huge disappointment other than that. I can see why a lot of people were let down by it too, but it's still in the beginning (even though it took forever to get started), so I'm sure they'll figure out other things to do with it in the future, but for now, I'll just let the extra cards I put to work slowly cut down some trees, and check on it every few weeks. At least I had that 50,000 DEC ready to go when it came time to buy some packs. I think I'll slowly power my land back up from the little crypto earnings I earn and wait for the next pack release or new Hive game that comes along. I did the same thing with Crowned, but that turned out to be a dud. Maybe Holozing won't let us down. Until then, it looks like Splinterlands is the best thing going for us on Hive. I wonder how many other people powered down their Land to buy Conclave♦️Arcana presale packs like I did.

Black Foil Cards

These new black cards look sick! I'm hoping I get one while opening packs, from my wagon, or from the raffle, but I also know it's highly unlikely. Even if I don't end up with one, I'm happy they exist because Splinterlands is a collectible card game, and what's cooler than having a card that is one out of one in existence? If I do get lucky and find a black foil or a black foil arcane card, I won't tell my wife because she'll pressure me to sell it. I'll probably put it to work on my Land plot if I do get one. I'm sure it will chop down lots of trees.

I'm a Modern Splinterlands player. I've tried Survival a few times, but hated losing my cards to cooldown. I will sometimes play in Wild, but all I do is lose, so it's better to just let the bot handle that part of the game. Modern is where it's at for me, but that's about to change when Conclave♦️Arcana pushes the old Chaos Legion cards to Wild. I've got plenty of Reward cards at MAX-level, but no summoners, so that won't matter. I've got all the cheapest Rebellion summoners at level two at least, so I'll probably make it to the Silver League, but if I rent one of the MAX-level Dragon summoners, it may help me to the Gold League. I'm so used to the Chaos Legion summoners and how to use them for the rulesets that I'll know what to do right away, but now that they'll be gone, it's going to be like being a new player again. The new Conclave♦️Arcana summoners will have racial synergy, so I'll have to learn how to use them together too. I hope that the menu, when looking at your card collection, has the option to group the different races together so we associate them together when looking at our packs, but if not, we'll all learn it eventually.
