Hell Yeah!!!

It was my first time attending the virtual meetup for Cebuanos in Hive, and it was really something one should take part in, especially for those who are just new here in the platform.

The meetup was held last Wednesday, October 28, and it was initiated by the Hive brilliants of Cebu, @ybanezkim26, @themanualbot, @glecerioberto @indayclara, @thegaillery, and @anneporter. Two days before the event, @ybanezkim26 released the announcement about this virtual gathering which they named HIVE TALKS: BEYOND BLOGGING

I could say that the organizers were really prepared for this as everything went really well, from the registration which we filled out the Google Form, to the before and after event notice via email, and the meetup proper via Zoom.

A Virtual Gathering and Learning Session

I was expecting that the talk would be about the basics in Hive, like the how-to's - formatting, creating good quality content, tagging, and more. But it was really beyond blogging as the name tells. I was glad that I've made it that time. It actually felt like attending the event is one of the best decisions I've made. hihi!

My knowledge about online opportunities is just so limited. I only knew vlogging, blogging, and crypto trading. But with the HIVE TALKS last week, I was informed of the many where we could possibly earn. And I was really right I attended.

The event was hosted by @indayclara who's really fit with her role. She's hell yeah enthusiastic which enlivened the event more though it's really late at night for an early-to-bed person like me.

BLOCKCHAIN AND CRYTOCURRENCY

I don't really know what blockchain is and how does it work, I am also not very much interested in searching over the internet what really that is. It was just during the event that I've known what blockchain is and how does it function. For me understanding things like this is somewhat difficult. I found it too complicated to cognitively digest. However, with the speaker's effort in delivering the topic and making it simple to catch to the best that he can, with all the aids like the visual representation of the subject matter, I now have a clearer idea of how does blockchain work and why it's called so.

I met the term cryptocurrency when I started blogging on the blockchain, but I never exerted effort and went deeper to know what does it mean and why does it exist. I don't know but it seemed like I'm meant to know these things, which I also liked now. The speaker on cryptocurrency defined and discussed really well what cryptocurrencies are and the purpose of their existence, and that answered the basic questions I had in mind about crypto.

BASICS OF CRYPTO TRADING

Five months ago, I started trading cryptos. My only goal then was to increase my BTC holdings, in the hopes that BTC's value in peso would go even higher in the days, months, and even years to come. I was so stubborn with that goal, but my knowledge in crypto trading is just so limited. I don't know how to read the candlesticks. I don't know when is the best time to trade either. I just stick to the basic rule I know, "Buy low, sell high". What's clear for me is to gain BTC from every order closed. Yes, I was able to increase my BTC holdings by just doing that, but as time went on, I felt like the information and rule I hold in hand is no anymore enough. That's why I am delighted that I was able to make it to the meetup last week. I had gained additional inputs that were really useful in my newest interest, trading

NFTs - HOW TO CREATE/BUY THEM

I am really clueless about NFTs. It was my first time hearing that during the meetup. I don't even know what does that acronym stand for. It's from the event that I had learned what NFTs are and that they're booming now. If it weren't because of the meetup, I wouldn't know that things like this where you can monetize your artworks exist. Soon, I'll try NFTs too.

Never did I imagine that the meetup would inform me of the many opportunities online where one can possibly earn. It was like "Information overload" at first but as I scan my notes and the screenshots sent, I had slowly cognitively digested everything. That very day turned out to be the best of my week, I have gained new useful information.

I really appreciate the brains behind this event. You guys are awesome. It's so nice and great of you coming up with this kind of virtual gathering. Aside from I learned a lot, I had fun. I wish that there'll be more of this.
