Mycelic Morphoid - Splinterlands Art Contest Week
Welcome everyone, I hope you are well. At the end of the weekend the weekly contest started, this is an opportunity to explore cards. While I was searching through the many options, looking for the one that caught my attention to participate, I came across a card called Mycelic Morphoid, a super rare character and I wanted to make it, it belongs to the Earth splinter.
Then, I invite you to dive with me in this story and discover the fascinating story behind Mycelic Morphoid.
Bienvenidos a todos, espero que esten bien. Al final del fin de semana empezo el concurso semanal, esta es una oportunidad para explorar cartas. Mientras buscaba entre las numerosas opciones, buscando aquella que me llamara la atencion para poder por participar, me encontré con una carta llamada Mycelic Morphoid, un personaje super raro y lo quise realizar, pertenece al splinter de Tierra.
A continuación, los invito a sumergirse conmigo en este relato y descubrir la fascinante historia detrás de Mycelic Morphoid.
"Mycelic Morphoids are in a constant state of growth and development. As part of Queen Mycelia's brood, Morphoids work to spread the growing blight on Praetoria. Infected themselves by the poison, they take root near streams and rivers, contaminating it with the blight. In turn, the waters feed them, and a second Morphoid sprouts from the original. Together, the two travel as one until they split and continue the process.
Twisted roots and poisonous pointed vines covered the ground of the Mugamp Bog. The botanist crouched down to take a sample of a single strange white mushroom in the underbrush. A fine addition to her collection. Since the disappearance of Doctor Alastair Lexington, the university had sent other explorers to Praetoria. One account was to locate him; the other was to get more plant samples.Sudden movement behind caught the attention of the botanist. She circled around on the balls of her feet to catch sight of it.
“Must have been the wind.”
Turning around to collect more of the fungus, the botanist stared down at multiple where the one had been. “Peculiar. They seem to have sprouted instantly.”
She reached out to pluck a few more from the ground."
"Los Morfoides Micélicos están en constante crecimiento y desarrollo. Como parte de la prole de la Reina Mycelia, los Morfoides se dedican a propagar la plaga en Praetoria. Infectados por el veneno, echan raíces cerca de arroyos y ríos, contaminándolos con la plaga. A su vez, las aguas los alimentan, y un segundo Morfoides brota del original. Juntos, viajan como uno solo hasta que se separan y continúan el proceso.
Raíces retorcidas y enredaderas puntiagudas y venenosas cubrían el suelo de la Ciénaga de Mugamp. La botánica se agachó para tomar una muestra de un extraño hongo blanco entre la maleza. I started the process looking for a reference that matched the characteristics of the main character of the post. After finding an image that had the elements I was looking for, I began to merge the character according to the story of the main character of the post.
After about 8 hours I managed to complete the work. I hope you enjoy the images that show the development of the character.
Empece el proceso buscando una referencia que se ajustara a las características del personaje principal de post. Luego de encontrar una imagen que tenia los elementos que buscaba, comence a fusionar el personaje segun la historia del protagonista del post.
Después de aproximadamente 8 horas logré completar la obra. Espero que disfruten las imágenes que muestran el desarrollo del personaje.
Process
In the initial part of the sketch, I started by making several guide lines until I reached a convincing resemblance with the reference image I had chosen. To continue with the coloring stage and apply the shadows.
En la parte inicial del boceto, comencé realizando varias líneas guía hasta alcanzar una semejanza convincente con la imagen de referencia que había escogido. Para seguir con la etapa del coloreado e ir aplicando las sombras.
