Merdhampir- Splinterlands Art Contest Week
Welcome everyone, I hope you are well. This Sunday marked the start of the weekly contest, an exciting opportunity to explore cards. While browsing through the many options, looking for one that I really liked so I could participate, I came across a card called Merdhampir, an intriguing and powerful character that belongs to the Water splinter.
Below, I invite you to dive with me into this tale and discover the fascinating story behind Merdhampir.
Bienvenidos a todos, espero que se encuentren bien. Este domingo comenzó el concurso semanal, una oportunidad emocionante para explorar cartas. Mientras navegaba entre las numerosas opciones, buscando aquella que realmente me gustara para poder por participar, me encontré con una carta llamada Merdhampir, un personaje intrigante y poderoso que pertenece al splinter de Agua.
A continuación, los invito a sumergirse conmigo en este relato y descubrir la fascinante historia detrás de Merdhampir.
"No one would have thought that a mermaid could seduce a vampire, but on that fateful day, the seas became an even deadlier place to be. The merdhampir shares all of the merfolk's gifts beneath the water, along with an insatiable appetite for blood. They also have bat-like wings that are useless in the air but are crucial beneath the waves.
The merdhampir carries a great trident that it uses to catch its prey. The barbed prongs hold fast whilst the merdhampir drags its quarry back into the water using a long, thin chain attached to the weapon. Struggle as it may, the poor victim is pulled to an inevitable death. Few can escape this amphibious blood drinker."
"Nadie habría imaginado que una sirena pudiera seducir a un vampiro, pero ese fatídico día, los mares se convirtieron en un lugar aún más peligroso. El merdhampir comparte todos los dones de los tritones bajo el agua, junto con un insaciable apetito por la sangre. También posee alas de murciélago, inútiles en el aire, pero cruciales bajo las olas.
El merdhampir porta un gran tridente que usa para atrapar a su presa. Las púas lo sujetan firmemente mientras arrastra a su presa de vuelta al agua con una larga y delgada cadena sujeta al arma. Por mucho que se resista, la pobre víctima es arrastrada a una muerte inevitable. Pocos pueden escapar de este anfibio bebedor de sangre."
To bring this drawing to life, I began the process by searching for a reference that matched the key characteristics I had in mind. After finding an image that gathered the essential elements I was looking for, I started to merge the character according to the story of the main character of the post.
After about seven hours of dedication and creativity, I managed to complete the work. I hope you enjoy the images that show the artistic development of the character, appreciating each transformation and detail that brings him to life.
Para dar vida a este dibujo, inicié el proceso buscando una referencia que se ajustara a las características clave que tenía en mente. Tras encontrar una imagen que reunía los elementos esenciales que buscaba, empece a fusionar el personaje segun la historia del protagonista del post.
Después de aproximadamente siete horas de dedicación y creatividad, logré completar la obra. Espero que disfruten las imágenes que muestran el desarrollo artístico del personaje, apreciando cada transformación y detalle que le da vida.
Process
In the initial part of the sketch, I started by making several guide lines until I reached a convincing resemblance with the reference image I had chosen. To continue with the coloring stage and apply the shadows by combining several colors.
En la parte inicial del boceto, comencé realizando varias líneas guía hasta alcanzar una semejanza convincente con la imagen de referencia que había elegido. Para seguir con la etapa del coloreado e ir aplicando las sombras combinando varios colores.
