Coastal Sentry - Splinterlands Art Contest Week
Hello, Splinterlands community! I hope you are well, today I am very excited to share with you a digital artwork, one of the essential requirements to participate in this week's Splinterlands art contest. This time, I have been inspired by a card called Coastal Sentry, belonging to the Water Splinter from the Soulbound collection. Let me tell you a part of the story of this card:
¡Hola, comunidad de Splinterlands! espero se encuentren bien, hoy estoy muy emocionado de compartir con ustedes una obra en digital, uno de los requisitos esenciales para participar en el concurso de arte de esta semana en Splinterlands. En esta ocasión, me he inspirado en una carta llamada Coastal Sentry, perteneciente al Splinter de Agua de la colección Soulbound. Permítanme contarle una parte de la historia de esta carta:
"The coast of Praetoria is full of beauty and danger, and nothing encapsulates that better than the coastal sentry. These warriors hail from the watery settlements of the merfolk. Their role is to guard their people and the sea life around them, often swimming out for weeks on end, tracking a route around their territory.
Most of the time, coastal sentries will avoid strangers unless they pose a threat, choosing instead to slip away quietly before they are seen."
"La costa de Praetoria está llena de belleza y peligro, y nada lo resume mejor que el centinela costero. Estos guerreros provienen de los asentamientos acuáticos de los tritones. Su función es proteger a su gente y la vida marina que los rodea, y a menudo nadan durante semanas para seguir una ruta alrededor de su territorio.

For the creation of this drawing, I focused on half of the female body, applying a different style in its elaboration, especially in the lineart. I started my process looking for a reference that would serve as a guide to capture what I had in mind for the main character of this post. After a thorough search, I found a reference image that met the main characteristics I was looking for. Inspired by the story of the letter, I managed to finish the drawing in about 7 hours.
During the process, I dedicated myself to take care of every detail to make sure that the final result reflected the essence of the character. Below, I will show you several images of the process so you can appreciate each step.
Para la creación de este dibujo, me enfoqué en la mitad del cuerpo femenino, aplicando un estilo distinto en su elaboración, especialmente en el lineart. Comencé mi proceso buscando una referencia que me sirviera de guía para plasmar lo que tenía en mente para el personaje principal de este post. Después de una búsqueda minuciosa, encontré una imagen de referencia que cumplía con las características principales que estaba buscando. Inspirándome en la historia de la carta, logré culminar el dibujo en aproximadamente 7 horas.
Durante el proceso, me dediqué a cuidar cada detalle para asegurarme de que el resultado final reflejara la esencia del personaje. A continuación, les mostraré varias imágenes del proceso para que puedan apreciar cada paso.
Process
In the sketching stage, I started by drawing several guide lines to achieve a similarity with the image I found on the Pinterest platform. This process involved making several changes to the style of the character until the desired look was achieved. Once satisfied with the preliminary design, I proceeded to make the lineart, a task that took quite some time due to the attention to detail required.
After completing the lineart, I moved on to the coloring stage. Here, I was careful to select an appropriate color palette that reflected the essence of the character.
En la etapa del boceto, comencé trazando varias líneas guía para conseguir una similitud con la imagen que encontré en la plataforma de Pinterest. Este proceso implicó realizar varios cambios en el estilo del personaje hasta lograr la apariencia deseada. Una vez satisfecho con el diseño preliminar, procedí a hacer el lineart, una tarea que me llevó bastante tiempo debido a la atención al detalle que se requería.
Después de completar el lineart, pasé a la etapa del coloreado. Aquí, me esmeré en seleccionar una paleta de colores adecuada que reflejara la esencia del personaje.
