Recientemente, comentaba en mis publicaciones anteriores que había encontrado una carpeta con algunos dibujos y bocetos antiguos. Entre ellos había un boceto hecho en papel, que debo haber arrancado de algún cuaderno. Es un dibujo muy extraño del torso de una mujer deforme, tenía los brazos donde deberían estar las piernas y la cabeza donde está la entrepierna. El torso tiene por cabeza una televisión, de esas antiguas, donde en su pantalla con estática, se ve una boca que parece sonreír. También hay un arma apuntando al televisor, cigarrillos de mariposa flotando, tentáculos rodeando el torso deformado. Quería hacerlo de nuevo digitalmente, darle vida con colores. A continuación les muestro el dibujo que hice y luego el boceto del 2010 con el que me inspiré.

Recently, I was commenting in my previous posts that I had found a folder with some old drawings and sketches. Among them was a sketch made on paper, which I must have ripped out of some notebook. It is a very weird drawing of the torso of a deformed woman, she had her arms where her legs should be and her head where her crotch is. The torso has a television for a head, one of those old ones, where on its screen with static, you can see a mouth that seems to smile. There's also a gun pointed at the TV, butterfly cigarettes floating, tentacles surrounding the deformed torso. I wanted to do it again digitally, bring it to life with colors. Below I show you the drawing I made and then the sketch from 2010 with which I was inspired.
No recuerdo exactamente lo que estaba pensando cuando dibujé esa cosa. A veces tenía ideas que venían de repente, inspiradas en imágenes, música o cosas que leía. Como soy muy olvidadizo, siempre intentaba esbozar la idea antes de que me traicionara la memoria. Seguramente eso fue lo que pasó con este dibujo que encontré, un esbozo rápido de una idea que brotó inesperadamente. Pero lamentablemente en ese momento la imagen fue guardada y olvidada en una carpeta. Hasta ahora.
En cuanto al proceso de creación, fui fiel al boceto original. No quería cambiar demasiado la idea original. El reto está en la selección de colores ya que es un boceto a lápiz (en blanco y negro), por lo que no me era posible recordar el color de la ilustración que tenía en mente para ese momento. Tuve que improvisar un poco, pero tampoco fue gran cosa, después de todo, los colores que me gusta usar en los dibujos animados no han cambiado mucho con el tiempo. Aunque hubiera sido interesante saber qué colores habría usado hace más de 10 años con ese dibujo. A continuación les comparto imágenes del proceso, desde el boceto hasta el coloreado.
I don't remember exactly what I was thinking when I drew that thing. Sometimes I would have ideas that would come suddenly, inspired by images, music or things I read. As I am very forgetful, I always tried to sketch the idea before my memory betrayed me. That was surely what happened with this drawing that I found, a quick sketch of an idea that sprouted unexpectedly. But unfortunately at that time the image was saved and forgotten in a folder. Up to now.
As for the creation process, I was faithful to the original sketch. I didn't want to change the original idea too much. The challenge lies in the selection of colors since it is a pencil sketch (in black and white), so it was not possible for me to remember the color of the illustration that I had in mind for that moment. I had to improvise a bit, but that wasn't a big deal either, after all, the colors I like to use in cartoons haven't changed much over time. Although it would have been interesting to know what colors he would have used more than 10 years ago with that drawing. Below I share images of the process, from the sketch to the coloring.
