Since Conclave Arcana dropped, one card has been my secret weapon in Modern Format: the Meriput Slinger! This tiny terror isn’t just adorable—it’s a Death Splinter Impede demon with tricks up its sleeves. Here’s why it’s a must-pick:

🎯 Why the Slinger Slays

🎶 "With a sling and a spell and a sly little grin,
You’ll never see where the squeakborn’s been!" 🎶

• Impede FTW: In a meta where speed kills, slowing enemies down is chef’s kiss. Death often struggles in speed wars, but this squeakborn tips the scales!

• Shockingly Tanky: Even at Level 3, its 5 health lets it survive stray hits and can justify its 7-mana cost when you have enough MANA to hire a stalwart Support.

• Rare Rodentian: No legendary? No problem. This RARE card punches above its weight.

🐀 Lore Love: Meet the Squeakborn

The muriden of Meriput are mischievous tunnel-dwellers, using squeaks, slings, and stolen magic to survive the Deep. Fittingly, the Slinger fights just like its lore: darting in, disrupting foes, and vanishing before the counterattack!

Within the Upper Daigendark lies Meriput—a large, complex burrow system of muriden. Colloquially known as 'squeakborn,' muriden are playful, curious, and mischievous by nature.

This isn’t just cat-and-mouse—it’s "Squeakborn vs. the Slow and the Doomed"! I've enjoyed victory recently by utilising the Archon, Lorkus' "Life Leech" on, Barashkukor, to turn Impeed into a full-speed lockdown. Bonus points if you imagine the enemy team raging as they struggle to react to the volley of attacks.

I even wrote a muriden victory chant (see lyrics above!) to celebrate when this little legend clutches a win. Squeakborn supremacy!
