Hello Friends,

I am working on a side project, an NFT battling game; the art is coming along nicely, the game doc is coming along too, the web page is up, and the story is fleshing out... Here is where I am at with the winding back story of the land. It won't have that much impact on the game play, but knowing the longer history will help later.

Back Story Draft 1

It was said that in the days before the Battle of the Grey Forest, the world was a different place. A place where magic was not just a distant legend, but something that was real and present in the lives of those who lived in it.

Legends say that there were great sorcerers and sorceresses who could wield magic with ease and that there were great battles fought between them. Some say that the Battle of the Grey Forest was the greatest of them all.

The battle was fought between the Sorceress of the Emerald Blade and the God of Magic. It was a vicious battle, and neither side could claim victory. In the end, both the God of Magic and the Sorceress of the Emerald Blade perished.

However, from the death of the God of Magic, a new creature was born. A creature that would come to be known as the Demon King. And from the death of the Sorceress of the Emerald Blade, another creature was born. A creature known as the Archdemon.

The world was plunged into darkness and despair. Many fled to the safety of the forests and mountains. Some took up arms and fought back against the demons, but they were quickly overwhelmed. The few survivors now live in scattered settlements, eking out a meager existence.

The Demon King and the Archdemon would go on to terrorize the world for years to come. They would eventually be defeated, but not before they had caused untold destruction.

In the hundred years since the Battle of the Grey Forest, the world has changed. Magic is no longer a distant legend. It is now a reality. And a nightmare.

You are a young hero in this land. You must rise to find fame, and riches, and claim your place in this ever-changing land.

The world is a far different place than it was a hundred years ago. Gone are the days when wizards were the only ones with magic. Now, everyone and everything has some form of magical power, and the evil ones, they are using it to destroy the world as we know it.

Burned villages. Plagues of locusts. Strange creatures. Crops withering in the fields. All these things have happened since the Battle of the Grey Forest. And it is all because of the chaos that was released that day.

The people are calling for a hero to save them. A hero to put an end to the chaos and the waves of terror. That hero... is you.
