So!! There is a new game in town. Muterra
Have you heard about it?
Of course, you have. It is usually me who is always late for parties. Be it the splinter lands, rising stars, dcorp, dcity, basically the entire game list on the Hive Blockchain. But I think I am keeping up with the Muterra. (Or at least I think I am, please don't burst this bubble) Anyway, let's reserve the chit-chat for some other day and move on with the review. Yes, this is a game review. And here you all thought that you know me better.

I am yet to get my Tamer license so many features are still locked and I am unable to explore them. Now, I am going to be very honest here. The review is a little biased as this game is set in the post-apocalyptic Andaman (My hometown!!!! Baebay!!!!). Rangat is a real and beautiful place in North Andaman. And since the game got the beauty of that land very nicely I am giving it a star right off the bat.

My first impression of the game is, I love the retro game look. This game reminds me of the pokemon era. I got to play the default character ‘Manav’ in the game. Where I interacted with the NPCs and was able to get some ideas about the game mechanics. I may be wrong about it as I haven't got full access. Hoping that I will be able to grind enough to buy myself a good license.

The opening scene is also very cool, It's a letter from a grandma to someone named Fiona. Explaining that there are monsters attacking them and there is no electricity (To be fair, the present-day Rangat and Andaman face electricity shortage). What got me intrigued was how granny described Fiona (Damn!!! I am too afraid to address Fiona as she or her... Twitter and other social media are spoiling my political correctness. Moving on) The world called you a freak but the moment you were born I knew you were special. Set up a real mystery to the storyline of the game. What happened? Who is Granny? Who is Fiona? What is the Fionas pronoun? Etc… Jokes apart. I am sure. The story is already available. I remember it being part of the treasure hunt during the game dev days.

Where were we? Yeah!! The game starts at HQ and what seems to be a pretty standard setup for RPG games. Lots of NPCs doing NPC things. But one can anticipate by looking at the slots of the characters that some cool in-game Items may appear which can be used to boost the character's stats or can be traded for tokens. Inventory to hold healing potions/antidotes/stamina boosters. Some appear to be locked. I guess they will get unlocked at a higher Exp level.

Enough about the character Let's explore the land. I am loving the Map and the texture it has. This is what Rangat would look like if converted into a pixel world. I congratulate the game dev for making the Map so colorful and big. Because I got lost and since I skipped the tutorial (Bad Gamer Habit) I was unable to check my location on the map. It took me good 15-20mins to get back to HQ. Which was fun, because on the way I was going around asking NPCs their backstories. One NPC was worried about fixing an old bike and a good NPC warned me about the crocodile. (Another nice touch about the Rangat, the Mangrove forest is home to some of the nastiest saltwater crocodiles). The NPC's design also looks very nice. Some look like Elves and some had that rugged warrior look.

Again I am not sure how the game works. All these are just my anticipation based on the limited access that I had to the game. But all I can say for now is that the game dev has succeeded in creating an interesting world to play around. Eagerly waiting for the Tamer sale on 31st March 2023 1900Hrs IST.

And this game reminded me of my old days when I use to spend an entire day looking for the legendary gauntlet to handle the spear that I bought from the fishmonger in the dungeon who is a penguin and my dog used to take the extra items and run to town to sell it off and brings me gold.
Wow!!! Thats the most illogical thing I have written.
