My Plan for Rebellion | Splinterlands
In this video I review the options for anyone interested in Rebellion:
- Buy packs from Splinterlands
- Buy packs on the peer to peer market
- Buy cards when available.
Each options has its own benefits, and I want to specifically discuss my own plans and what factors are weighing in as I decide my plan of attack.
As always, thank you for your time and attention, have an amazing day and God bless.

Hindsight is 20/20, but the cutoff for Top250 rare title was 332 packs and I snuck in at 249th place.
Supporting the company through the primary sale was a big motivator to me. Surely I could have been more efficient with my capital by purchasing packs at $2.85 range when they were at their lowest on Hive Engine and then buy the promos from the secondary market. I bought ~20 from the secondary market while they were under $3.
I participated in the YGGSPL bulk buy because I was confident we would place in the Top6 for the summoner design and I targeted an even 300 for silver league legendary and 30 rare promos. I bought 261 + the 15% bonus got me to 300!
Then with about a week left, I did some math and decided I could purchase 300ish more packs to secure 3x BCX of the legendary promo to guarantee myself a gold league legendary promo and another 30x BCX also a gold league rare promo. With DEC so close to peg and having to purchase fiat to preserve my DEC holding for land, it became apparent that it would be cheaper for me to buy the packs with credits than DEC. The logic for this the affiliate discount of 2.5% + CC cash back of 2% + 0 transfer fees for buying credits via PayPal CC was materially cheaper than onboarding USD via Binance and trading through Pancakeswap and onboarding through Terablocks.
Since my second purchase was going through my personal account, I would only be getting a 5% bonus instead of a 15% bonus, but my backhand math showed that the 10% extra packs (30 = $120 + 150 vouchers) would be approximately close to the current market price of a rare title ($135-150 currently). I had to jump in and buy another 17 packs in three separate purchases during the last hour of the presale, but the last 2 packs with less than a minute to go helped me secure spot 249! Title locked and loaded. My alt account @treycrypto is a Rebel!
So there you have it, my Rebellion strategy worked out pretty well and I feel really good about supporting the company (and DAO) with 632 packs purchased directly from the store! I'm sure i will try to snipe some deals as some of the bulk buyers unload a little bit and most of my funds are ready to snipe some GF Rebellion singles when they hit the market Dec 5!
