Moon: The New Free to Play Game on Hive, Registration and First Steps

I signed up to the new free to play game on Hive. Moon, as you can guess from the name, is set in space. It is a free to play strategy game which reminded me of Starcraft. Players gather resources, research technologies, build ships, weapons and defenses. Players can explore space to discover and colonize new worlds and/or attack other players to steal their resources.

Joining the game is easy. I signed up using my email account.

A hive account is not necessary to start but later we can link our hive account in the game.

After clicking choosing a username and password. I clicked agree to the rules and then register and I'm already in the game. I started with metal and silicon resources. There's a new message that we need to read for some tips.

First, players need to build a Solar Power Plant. It supplies energy needed to power up other buildings like the Ore Extractor and Silicon Refinery. Players will need resources to pay for buildings and research. Players need to build Shipyards to build ships. Players also need to research technologies. All of these need resources.

The first buildings needed are the resource producing ones. The Solar Power Plant, Ore Extractor, Silicon Refinery and Uranium Centrifuge.

For now, these are the buildings I started with. After my resource production is secure, I would research technologies and build ships to explore.

Moon is entirely free to play but if players want to make actions faster then they can hire officers. Officers can provide buffs to make certain actions in the game faster and thus development will be much quicker. Officers can be hired using another resource, Pizzabits. Pizzabits can be gathered in the game by exploring or players can exchange Pizza tokens bought from hive engine for Pizzabits. The rate of exchange is ten Pizzabits for one Pizza token.

I will stop here for now and keep building my space empire in the Moon. I'll share more updates about my progress in my next post.
