RECORD BREAKING Hive Punk Sales! Rarest & Most Expensive Punks EVER Just Sold For $24K
Recently there were two record-breaking Hive Punk sales, and barely anybody noticed because it all happened right under their noses. If you have been paying close attention to the market you will have noticed that the two rarest "Mummy" types were taken down but recently one reappeared with a new owner oddly enough: Punk ID 381
Since there is no history of peer-to-peer sales of course you have to use the blockchain to track these kinds of things down so that is precisely what I did using the handy blockchain explorer. Started by looking up the buyer/seller and finding their transactions on hive-engine and then on the hive blockchain. Now this one was a little tricky at first because the buyer paid the seller in HIVE rather than SWAP.HIVE, but once I figured this out it was easy to see what happened. Elmerlin sent (at least) 15,000 HIVE to the seller in exchange for Punk 381 which he then listed on the market afterwards. At the time of the sale this was approximately $24,000 USD and a new record for total HIVE paid for a single Hive Punk!
The other mummy, which is even more rare, is still missing from the market- but where did it go? Punk ID 5727 was purchased 10 days ago in a P2P sale for 5000 SWAP.HIVE + 100 Splinterlands BETA packs according to what I found on the blockchain. First I looked up the owner to see who sent it to him, then I looked up the seller by their SWAP.HIVE transactions to find their payment. 5000 Hive seemed pretty low so after scouring the rest of their transfers on Hive-engine I also found the 100 BETA pack transfer.
Now the prices of both Hive and BETA have been all over the place lately but I estimated this sale at around $19,000 USD yesterday. However, the seller later confirmed the information but said that it was approximately $24,000 USD value at the time which would tie it for most expensive punk sold. The project is less than one month old and we are already seeing insane numbers here. I recently sold one of my rare Hive Punks (ID 9484) for 2099 Hive or approximately $3,600 and am starting to think that may have been too cheap! This is just the beginning of the Hive blockchain expansion and I think Hive Punks will be a part of this massive growth in 2022 and beyond.

Maybe I can flip a few and eventually get those super rare and special ones, but I like all of the ones I have
It's not too late to snipe a few of those ultra rare ones like I did with Rhett Ochoa 😂 That was the most expensive one I have gotten so far at about $900 since he is an APE!
My gosh, those are life-changing amounts. I'm still hoping for a decent sell soon so that I can buy more BRO tokens.

How much are BRO tokens and what do they do?
BRO is kinda like a hive-engine index coin that pays dividends in various other tokens. You can delegate to the Brofi account also for rewards back.
The token is supposed to pay out 50% of curation rewards to holders of BRO. They are something like $5 maybe per token?

It was also the only one in that rarity lol, the rest was in the 200 something or lower rarity range.. But yeah it's cool :) Glad I found that one at least..

I know it's hard with how Hive-Engine displays transactions, but we need more of these types of posts showing how the Hive Punks market is evolving.
$24K is niceeee.
This has got me thinking and a further market feature I would love to see is the option to 'make an offer'.
Everyone has a price and it's a little bit lower when all you need to do is click accept and the cash will be in your account haha.
Anyway, I'm looking forward to what comes next from the team.
...I just hope they spend some of that money and move quickly enough to really capitalise.

Auctions are possible but they cost 1 BEE per each so theres that factor. The offering option thing has been tossed around in the Discord channel and I agree it would make things really efficient when it comes to trading or selling punks.

I have a bunch of them but they are all ugly and common, so I am pretty sure I will never get anything for them. But it was funny to participate.

By the way I checked out what you minted and they arent that bad! The first 6 (rarest) would sell for anywhere between 40-80 Hive conservatively, in these current market conditions.

I purchased a zombie off the market and it was tough because the guy didn't use Hive, so I had to get creative to contact him. I'm hoping to make a few more purchases like that, because it felt a bit more rewarding that just going to the marketplace.
