The end of weddings in Las Vegas - El fin de los casamientos en Las Vegas
Perhaps the title is a bit dramatic, even more so for the city of the game in the state of Texas, however, the news about a marriage on the Ethereum blockchain with a self-styled “digital” priest could be a new trend that sounds very possible to dethrone this custom so ingrained for several decades.
A few days ago, news broke that an Indian couple decided to marry and register it on the Ethereum blockchain using an NFT containing their wedding vows.
According to the husband, he was watching the news about marriages in other countries that were made on the blockchain and he decided to achieve his, for this he contacted Anoop Pakki, known as the "digital priest" who was responsible for coining the NFT and accompanying to the young couple at the ceremony; After reading the votes, they finalized the transaction to upload the NFT to the digital wallet of Shruti Nair, the happy wife of the couple he formed with Anil Narasipuram. It has obviously been a surprising and innovative decision that could lead many other couples to copy the initiative.
According to Anil, his main motivation came from a tweet uploaded by Rebecca Kacherginsky, a Coinbase staff product designer, showing that on 4/2/2021 she married, in the same way, creating an NFT that she and her husband uploaded to the blockchain to preserve that once-in-a-lifetime moment forever.
Perhaps the way Rebecca concluded the news of her own marriage prompted Anil and probably many others to make the decision: “The #blockchain, unlike physical objects, is forever. It's unstoppable, impossible to censor, and doesn't require anyone's permission. Just as love should be. What could be more romantic than that?
Could Satoshi Nakamoto have thought of this incredible derivation of technology for the proposal? I honestly don't know, but I do know that maybe from now on fewer people will go to Vegas to get married, or not.

Pocos días atrás se conoció la noticia de que una pareja de la India decidió efectuar su casamiento y registrarlo en la blockchain de Ethereum mediante un NFT que contiene sus votos matrimoniales.
Según el esposo, estuvo viendo noticias sobre matrimonios en otros países que se hicieron en blockchain y se decidió a lograr el suyo, para ello se contactó con Anoop Pakki, conocido como el “sacerdote digital” quien fue el responsable de acuñar el NFT y acompañar a la joven pareja en la ceremonia; luego de leer los votos concretaron la transacción de subir el NFT a la cartera digital de Shruti Nair, la feliz esposa de la pareja que conformó con Anil Narasipuram. Evidentemente ha sido una decisión sorprendente e innovadora que podría llevar a muchas otras parejas a copiar la iniciativa.
Según Anil, su principal motivación provino de un tuit subido por Rebecca Kacherginsky, una diseñadora de productos del personal de Coinbase, mostró que el 2/4/2021 se casó de igual forma creando un NFT que junto a su esposo subieron a la blockchain para preservar ese momento único en la vida para siempre.
Quizás la forma en que Rebecca concluyó la noticia de su propio casamiento impulsó a Anil y probablemente a muchos otros a tomar la decisión: “La #blockchain, a diferencia de los objetos físicos, es para siempre. Es imparable, imposible de censurar y no requiere el permiso de nadie. Así como debe ser el amor. ¿Qué podría ser más romántico que eso?”.
¿Habrá pensado Satoshi Nakamoto en esta increíble derivación de la tecnología por la propuesta? Sinceramente no lo sé, pero sí sé que quizás a partir de ahora menos gente irá a casarse a las Vegas, o no.
