THE LAND IS NOT ALWAYS GREENER ON THE OTHER SIDE....
It is a very common thing to appreciate something on the other side more, to magnify something far off, appreciating the beauty, the elegance, how lovely and easy it is, and so we fantasise these things probably because of what we've heard seen and thought of..
When it comes to personal lives the effect of these is low self-esteem, cause most of the time we see how excellent, how better the other person is, how lucky or how blessed they're and we look down on ourselves as to not measuring up-to them...
Today I went out to meet a colleague of mine, since we're serving in the same state but different locations, while I stepped there i realise that the place looked good and very nice, she told me she worked as a personal assistant to her Boss and she get paid good amount, wow while I was busy praising her and admiring her office and how I wish I had gotten this place for my service year, then we got talking and she told me she worked all day and only get one day off duty, while I thought about that I realise this is one mistake we all do always glorifying what's afar off than what we have and that's an illusion because we don't know or understand how things worked there but then we know how things worked with ours and we can always Create room for improvement Instead of wishing to be on the other side were we think the land is greener.... Meanwhile were I'm working I only get to work only twice a week and I have the rest of the days to myself.
This bring me to the aspect of having to appreciate the little things we have, to value and appreciate what you have, by doing this your mind is open to more greater ways to improve, seeking opportunities to grow from where you are and to become what you desire...
This is why you see a lot of persons in my country will earnestly wish to be abroad because the land is assumed to be greener on the other side of the sea, a lot of mishap could have been prevented if they choose otherwise, a lot of them loosing their lives and livelihood in the process
Saw last week how a man sold all his landed property and literaly all he had just to fly abroad just to realise he'd send all that money to a scammer and he's back to square zero, what would have happened if that man invested all that money in his business, then again there are those who left their High paying job got over seas and began living like miscreant, most of them regretting their foolish Actions and can't return home out of shame instead remain abroad.
I'm not really against those who wish to seek better opportunities outside, of course the system here is not really favorable but then one should be more convinced that moving is the right and suitable option left, truly speaking I believe so much in my country because of the vast opportunity available here, the population, the work force, the environment, the numerous opportunities available, Nigeria and Africa is a Hub for creativity, it's a genuine place to build and grow because of the market demand, NIGERIA and Africa are Emerging Market and that makes it a potential Viable ground for Endless possibilities.
This is often the very big mistake we all do as humans because of our perception and Insatiable lifestyle, lack of staying power and the inability to see beyond the norm.
