The Influence of Wild Format and Modern Format in splinterlands Playing in both formats requires skills and strategies! Splinterlands battles are very easy especially when you are not losing battles. When I play Modern format from 100 points to 1800 points, the battles were very simple because some of the players I was pairing with were Below me. I won more than 30 battles without losing one; that was how I realized that when you have good cards, to win battles becomes easier. When the points are getting higher, the battle becomes tougher.

Wild Format

New format is the most interesting format for me! I like the wild format more than the modern format. The reasons are; All cards are ready to use: This is where a player can use all his cards. Wild format gives opportunities to players to select different kinds of kids; but in New format, some cards are restricted to use.

A player in a wild format has plenty of options when arranging cards for a battle. For instance, there was a day I was playing in a wild format, plenty of options were given to me to select a monster with shield ability; more than 3 monsters with shield ability were available for me. When such a rule was given to me in Modern format, it was 2 monsters with shield ability were available.

Wild Format is more Technical: when you look at summoners that give additional +1 magic attack in wild format, there are many of them; therefore, it is not easy for the opponent to know the summoner that his/her opponent will use. But if it is Modern format, you can easily guess the summoner that your opponent will use if only magic monsters are allowed in battles. I have experiences of both formats, and I have guessed right several times when I used Modern format; while it was difficult for me to guess right in wild format.

*Wild pass dilemma*: without wild pass you cannot play wild format. For players that earned more than $10 in a single season, 2,000 DEC is not big for them; but for a player that earns $2 in a season, 2,000 is too much. I will love it if wild pass can be removed totally so that I can use the DEC to get more rented SPS in the market.

Wild Format is a little bit tougher: this is based on my assumptions. I have seen players with max cards in wild format; I have seen some cards that are very deadly in wild format; and when such a card appears, I surrender because there is no way I could win the battle. Without having good cards, it is difficult to move up!

Modern Format

More accessible than wild format: in wild format, a player needs to purchase ‘pass’ before he/she can play it. In modern format, a player doesn't need a ‘pass’ to play. The moment you have your cards, you are qualified to play.

A player needs newly released cards to participate in Modern format: Modern rank is very demanding! You need to get involved in the newly released (Conclave Arcana) and rebellion. The reason I don't like to participate in Modern format right now is because I don't have enough rebellion and conclave arcana cards. I need these sets of cards to play modern format.

It helps new players to grow: Modern format helps new players to grow in the sense that they don't need to pay ‘pass’. If this mechanism is applied to modern format, some of the new players would have given up on playing the game. If I had plenty of cards in modern format, I would have preferred modern format rather than wild format. I would have used the money to pay ‘pass’ to get a rented Splinterlands Governance Token (SPS) rather than the pass.

In conclusion, I have played in both formats. I like Wild Format not because of the SPS or merits obtained per win, I like it because I have a higher number of wins than the modern format.
