Battle Mage Secrets Weekly Challenge: Little League

Hello Splinterlands lovers and friends across the world. How are you doing today? What a fantastic battle mage secrets for this week.

Little ruleset is one of the complicated rulesets to play because it is not easy to choose the best summoner and monsters for this battle. You might want to use melee monsters to attack your opponent; while your opponent might use magic monsters to attack.
Therefore, there is no best strategy for this ruleset; this is because the strategy to win a player might not work for another player.
There was a time I used a certain strategy for an opponent that was paired with me, I was happy to defeat my opponent hands down with my summoner.

A Little league rule set can be funny at times and it is not easy to guess.

Ruleset

Little League: Only monsters and summoners that cost 4 mana or less may be used in battles.
The important thing about this rule is the 4 mana, when this rule is given in battles, you cannot use monsters or summoners above 4 mana. This rule only allowed summoners and monsters less than 4 mana. All monsters and summoners below 4 mana are available when making your choice about the cards you want to use.

Fog of War: Monsters lose the sneak, snipe and opportunity abilities.
Melee monsters can only attack in the first position; both sneak and opportunity melee monsters can not attack in any other positions than first position. But melee monsters with reach ability can attack in the second position; and when players use a summoner that gives all monsters reach ability, any melee monster can attack in second position.
Range monsters lose the sneak and snipe abilities: fog of war only allows sneak and snipe monsters to attack opponent monsters in the first position instead of snipe to attack in any direction and sneak to attack from behind.

BATTLE ARRANGEMENTS
Hill Giant

Level: 3⭐⭐⭐
Splinter: Health
Ability: none
Attack: Melee
Speed: 1🚄
Pack: Chaos legion
Melee monsters are active in the first position only unless you use a melee monster with reach ability in the second position. When I looked around to select my first monster, Hill Giant was the only monster that could fit into first position. If I mistakenly choose Screeching Vulture as the first monster, the monster might not reach second position because of the small health.*** Hill Giant*** was fitted in the second position because of its higher number of health.
Hill Giant was able to reach the second round which could not be possible if I mistakenly used screeching vulture.
Though, I would have used screeching vulture instead of Barking Spider; screeching vulture would not be able to attack in that position because of fog of a war ruleset.

Water Elemental

Splinter: Earth
Level: 4⭐⭐⭐⭐
Ability: Healing
Attack: Range
Speed: 2🚄
Pack: Beta
I knew that Hill Giant would surely be eliminated in this battle. Hence, I needed a monster with high health that could delay opponent monsters from killing all my monsters. Then, I understood that the healing ability of Water Elemental with the combination of tank heal would be suitable in this battle.

Wood Nymph
Splinter: Earth
Level: 4⭐⭐⭐⭐
Ability: Tank heal
Attack: magic
Speed: 3🚄
Pack: Alpha
This is one of the most important cards in this battle; I made a mistake about the position I should have used Wood Nymph.
Wood Nymph should have been used in 4th or 5th position but I used it in third position. Wood Nymph was kept on healing the health of the monster in the first position. That was the reason Hill Giant and Water Elemental were able to last longer in this battle. If there was no Wood Nymph in this battle, my victory would have been damned.

Spirit Shaman

Splinter: Water
Level: 3⭐⭐⭐
Ability: Divine shield and stun
Attack: Magic
Speed: 3🚄
Pack: Alpha reward card
Spirit Shaman stun ability was impeccable in this battle and it contributed to my victory. The abilities of Spirit Shaman made me select the monster. You could see the way it stunned opponent monsters.
The Divine Shield ability was useful when it led the attack toward the end of the battle.

Doctor Blight

Splinter: Neutral
Level: 2⭐⭐⭐
Ability: Affliction and Poison
Attack: Magic
Speed: 1🚄
Pack: Chaos legion promo card
There are two things I love about this monster; the poison and affliction.
Doctor Blight was impeccable in this battle by applying its poisoning and affliction abilities on opponent monsters that damaged the health and stopped the healing monster from healing itself.

Barking Spider 🕸️

Splinter: Earth
Level: 5⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Ability: none
Attack: Range
Speed: 3🚄
Barking Spider's range ability was very important and attacked very well.

BATTLES
Round 1

Spirit Shaman was the first monster that attacked in this battle; it attacked Xenith Monk, follow by Wood Nymph, and Barking Spider.
Xenith Monk was the first monster that attacks my monster. Revealer stunned my Hill Giant, therefore, the monster could not attack in round 1.
Doctor Blight poisoning opponent Xenith Monk which reduced the health of Xenith Monk to 1 at the beginning of second round.

Round 2

By the beginning of round 1, Xenith Monk was eliminated by Spirit Shaman; also, Hill Giant was eliminated by Venari Bonesmith.
Water Elemental led my lineup while Shadow Snitch led my opponent lineup.

Round 3 and 4

In round 3, Shadow Snitch was eliminated in opponent lineup while Water Elemental could hold little longer. By the end of round 3, Water Elemental was finally eliminated.
In round 4, both I and my opponent were left with four monsters each.
By the beginning of round 4, Revealer was eliminated by Spirit Shaman.
By the end of round 4, opponent Venari Marksrat was eliminated.

Therefore, I was left with four monsters while my opponent was left with 2 monsters.

Round 5

At the beginning of round 5 Wood Nymph was eliminated by the poisoning.
The Marty ability was activated on Venari Bonesmith which made the monster have 2 magics attack.
Spirit Shaman was the first monster that attacked in the 5th round; it attacked and stunned Venari Bonesmith which made Venari Bonesmith to attack back, Doctor Blight attacked and poisoned Venari Bonesmith.
Venari Bonesmith was finally eliminated in round 7.

Conclusion, little league is sweet to fight if you have the best monsters in the best position.
