What happened in crypto in the past week? We got drama on Hyperliquid. BTC is moving laterally most of the time, and ETH institutional users would like zero-knowledge proofs for it. What else? Read below:

  • Bitcoin: Metaplanet plans to raise $1.4B share sale to boost its BTC treasury. Corporate Bitcoin buying dropped in Augustas price rally lost its steam. London-based LMAX is set to launch perpetual futures on BTC and ETH, offering up to x100 times leverage. As the Feds cut interest rates by 25 basis points, BTC eyes potential upside. One veteran analyst expect BTC to go up to $200K before the end of the year. A Bitcoin wallet untouched since 2012 moved $15.6M.

  • Ethereum: SharpLink has repurchased $15M of its stock, with shares trading below the firm $3.6B in ETH holdings. They now hold 0.69% of the ETH total supply. Traditional finance firms are demanding privacy and zero-knowledge proofs for Ethereum. BBVA launched BTC and Ethereum trading using Ripple's custody technology instead of traditional providers.

  • Altcoins and stablecoins: Hyperliquid face backlash over Stripe bid for the USDH stablecoin contract, as they got its own Tiempo blockchain and wallet infrastructure. Paypal wants to enable direct crypto transfers between users in the US. First US XRP ETF launched in Septeber 18. In their first day, XRP and DOGE ETFs debuted with a combined $54.7M trading volume. VivoPower's electric vehicle subsidiary is now accepting RLUSD as international wire transfers are slow and expensive, and the operating markets across Asia, Africa and Middle East do have slow and expensive traditional banking. WLFI token crashed over 40% since launch with one whale losing$1.6M in a single leveraged position. ClearCore Solutions raised $175M and bought 285M Dogecoin tokens. BNB hit a new ATH, of $902, after news about its partnership with Franklin Templeton. On Linea, after a temporary sequencer outage disrupted the incoming airdrop, they restored stability. Wall Street got its first DEFI derivatives fund tied to dYdX. Korea's largest exchange, Upbit, unveiled its own chain built on the OP Stack. Ethena partnered with Binance to integrate USDe onto the exchange.

  • NFTs and blockchain games: I have enjoyed playing Golem Overlord lately on Hive, and it is quite profitable, I would say, with some significant updates lately. On Splinterlands, we have had the Land NFT new update and improved tokenomics on March 18. The sale of its latest Conclave Arcana collection is ongoing, and a new promo card is coming on September 23.

  • Good news: Kraken launched tokenized US stocks for the EU clients via SOL blockchain. The major US stock exchange NASDAQ is seeking approval from the SEC to start tokenizing stocks on the blockchain. Forward Industries has secured $1.65B to get become a Solana Treasury operator. Coinshares is heading to Wall Street through a $1.2B merger with Vine Hill Capital. Ripple expands its EU banking reach after its deal with the Spanish giant BBVA. JPMorgan says that institutional crypto adoption is early but accelerating. Gemini is aiming for a $3B valuation in NASDAQ debut. Even BlackRock is exploring how to bring ETFs onto blockchain. Blockchain lender Figure Technologies raised $788M in the NASDAQ IPO. Robinhood wants to launch Robinhood Ventures Fund I, a closed-end fund designed to give everyday investors exposure to private companies. London Stock Exchange launched a blockchain-based platform to digitize the trading and settlement of private funds. Santander's Openbank launches crypto trading in Germany, with Spain to follow. The SEC has approved a new rule allowing US exchanges to list spot crypto ETFs without individual reviews, cutting down delays. Eightco Holdings share price jumped from $1.45 to $80 after announcing a $250M Worldcoin purchase. Hong Kong makes crypto banking easier.

  • Bad news: Swissborg lost 193K SOL in his API breach, and pledges user recovery after affecting 1% of the platform's users. Shibarium, Shiba Inu's layer-2 blockchain, was exploited in a coordinated flash loan attack that gave the attacker control over the network's validator system and access to funds on its cross-chain bridge. Binance is in talks with the DOJ to end oversight from the $4.3B settlement. GameStop loses money despite siting on $528.6M in BTC holdings.

  • Joke of the week: Belarus president pushes for crypto and cash use to bypass sanctions, while in America inflation rised to 2.9%, clouding the FED's plans tu cut reates amid jobless spikes. In Canada the police have shut down crypto exchange TradeOgre, following a year-long investigation by the Money Laundering Investigative Team. But nothing can beat the Indian Minister fighting against crypto, suporting government ban while his own portfolio grew by $25.000 in one year (his spouse made better profits, $26.800).
