Multiple accounts in Splinterlands

avatar

I started playing Splinterlands a few months ago and have become absolutely hooked. As a previous player of Hearthstone, throwing away all my money on cards I don't even own, the switch to Splinterlands was incredible.

As fare as I have understood creating multiple accounts in Splinterland is legal and accepted, so today I gave it ago. For the record I am not using any bots. It’s simply a second account to play for myself. The reason I wanted a second account was to send some of my less used cards and create a second user who could benefit from the season awards. My plan is to get my second account up to Silver.

Creating the second Splinterlands account

This part is very straight forward. Simply go to Splinterlands website and click "Create Account". All that’s required is a different email from what you used the first time.

However if you want to make any money or participate in leagues you have to buy the spell book again. This is a 10$ purchase, so should be considered when opening a second account.

One you have made the spell book purchase you can choose your name and get your new private keys. They will be different for each account and need to be kept safe.

Hive Keychain

This part is optional:
I like to have Hive Keychain store my keys. It simply makes login and purchases so much easier. So if you are like me, you need first to retrieve your private keys. This is done by clicking on your name in Splinterlands, followed by “Request Account Keys”. A link will be emailed to you with your private keys. The email will expire in 24 hours so make sure you login before that.

Once you have your private keys, write them down or save them somewhere safe. I personally like to use 1Password but there are many options.

Add Account Hive

From the Chrome extension click on the 3 lines on the right and choose “add account”. From “add account” click “use keys/pwd” to import your keys to your second account. Here you have to enter your username (Make sure you don’t write it in capital) and private key.

That’s it.

Now you can switch between two accounts using the Hive Keychain in Chrome.

Please let me know any thoughts on multiple accounts and if anybody has a better way to do this.

Thank you
Henster

A thanks to Dwayne Cunningham, @infidel1258 for your videos helping me to get more into the game. For those that haven't watched Dwayne Cunningham, I strongly recommend checking him out.
