Splinterlands social media challenge: Death splinter monsters battle

Happy thursday to all and i hope the wild pass waiver for this season is making the battles this week interesting with an opportunity to battle in wild format with usage of all cards is more fun.

I am also enjoying these battles as the older edition cards are something we have enjoyed battling with, especially the alpha and beta edition cards and chaos legion edition cards all make these battles more interesting as i have many cards from these editions.

With chaos legion cards out of modern league, i feel very sad that i can't play much in modern format as i couldn't buy cards from rebellion edition and also the conclave arcana as i am not earning much from the battles and even if we earn something in the form of glint tokens, those can only be used to purchase the rewards cards and not the packs or the wild pass.

Keeping that sadness apart, here i am sharing a battle fought in wild format for this week's challenge of social media challenge.

Here i share the cards i used and the battle details with link to the battle as well.

This battle i am sharing was with 37 mana cost limit and reverse speed and what doesn't kill you were the rulesets.

Reverse speed ruleset enables the monsters with lesser speed to attack first and is totally reverse to what we normally see in battles.

And the what doesn't kill you is a ruleset with enrage ability to make the melee attack monsters to gain the attack and speed to attack earlier than their normal stats speed and with more attack.

The monsters i used are as below:

1. Cursed windeku:

Being a healing tank, this always comes in the first position and it's thorn ability also makes it to use more as a front monster.

It is with 3 melee attack and has enough health of 11 to survive few rounds of battle.

2. Night ghoul:

This being a taunt ability monster, used to attract the attack towards it, so that, the cursed windeku monster will be with less attacks on it and keep attacking the front monster on other side.

With arachne weaver in the lineup, this monster will always have chance to regain the health from the corrupted healing from arachne weaver.

3. Dark arborist:

Main purpose of using this was to reduce the melee attack with demoralize ability it has

4. Arachne weaver:

Arachne weaver and olivia of the brook are 2 of the best rewards cards we have from rebellion rewards cards and i always try to use these 2 cards because of the unique abilities these cards have.

Arachne weaver's corrupted healing is well known by now and it adds more teeth to all the monsters and the battles will be more interesting.

5. Ravenhood warden:

The main utility this monster provide is the armor building for all monsters besides it's 2 ranged attack.

I also use this card because it is a gold foiled version for me and gets more rewards in the form of glint tokens.

6. Broken earth thug:

Lastly, i used this for it's gold foiled version and 2 melee attack which is an opportunity attack to select and attack monsters with lowest health.

Battle:

Battles with reverse ruleset are always more challenging and interesting as many of us will concentrate on monsters with more speed and we do have many monsters with lesser speed and those will be trump cards for this ruleset battles.

With arachne weaver in the lineup on both sides, these monsters will keep regaining health and i think usage of night ghoul was advantageous for me to divert the attack and gain advantage in this battle.

Although the battle went for 8 rounds, the main reason behind this is the usage of night ghoul and usage of arachne weaver as this combination kept healing and the other monsters around these kept attacking the front monster on other side and those were getting removed one by one.

In the end, night ghoul and arachane weaver monsters' were victorious.
