The Price Tag of Joy
In my country, where people usually work their asses off every day of the week just to put food on the table, when we ask if money can buy happiness, I see it as something that is very personal. I could recall some time ago when I was still in school, I was close to this guy who we were in the same hostel. He told me that things are really tough for them at home and paying his school fees is really a struggle.
At that time for him, he usually told me that just having N200 in his pocket usually made him feel very big and happy for him. Then I think about it; it was not about having all the things of this life or luxury. It was just about surviving and not indulging in things that will embarrass him.
There is no doubt that when we have money in our pocket, it eases a lot of challenges for us. Because with it, we can easily buy the foodstuff we need, pay for the clothes we want, easily pay the kids school fees, and get things that I can afford. I was in a gathering one day, and one of the parents said, Having money is a real blessing because it gives a special comfort that no motivational speaker can give.
And also, when I look at things from another angle, I can say that some of these rich people seem very empty, even though they have luxury things, yet they kind of feel alone and not happy. I know a man like that personally, and when I see him, I always say to myself that money might be able to give solutions to a lot of things, but the truth of the matter is that it has its limitations when it comes to filling the heart.
So, without beating around the bush, it is no doubt that when we have money, we will be able to afford the comfort that comes with it and not happiness, because that depends solely on us. And if money allows us to show love to others and have a meaningful life, then maybe we get the happiness that we can accept. And like the Bible says, contentment is a great gain if it is followed by joy, which gives love, sound health, and even the right linkup.

This rhymes perfectly with the words the priest said during church service about some people being rich but yet poor. In the sense that they tend to be in sorrow due to one history or the other, something that their money-es isn't capable of solving.
When I tell you that the holy spirit is working with me, you won't agree. Now you are comparing my word with the priest's own.... Isn't that evidence enough
But that is just the truth. It might not be all of them, but some are...I know of one professor here, very okay but he's just managing his life
