Strangers Who Feel Like Home

To be honest, the world keeps moving, things keep changing, and so does our friendship, because back then, I was made to realize that friends are who I grew up with, share bonds with, eat from the same plate, and play football together. But fast forward to today, that has changed because the friendship line has taken on a brand new dimension different from what we used to know.

It can simply start from a simple "hey" under a post, to getting to know each other more, to meeting one another face-to-face. I have seen different situations like that whereby those that I am seeing physically are not even aware of things I am thinking about, but someone who I became friends with only knew about it. That is life, and it should not be difficult because we are already in the computer age, unlike how it used to be in the past.

Though a lot of people usually say making friends online is dangerous, well, so is making friends physically. To me, making online friends is something very beautiful.

I have made a lot of friends online that I have never met before, but interacting with them is a bliss. Because every moment spent talking about life and things feels far better than sharing hugs, handshakes, and smiles with some people. Some of my online friends, talking with them always brings relief because of their words. I could remember in 2017 when I joined Steemit, I met a lot of people who are very good friends of mine, and to date, we have not yet seen each other, yet we still communicate. That is the power of online friendship. And when I returned to Hive around six months ago, I met some good souls that we are good friends because their words always bring comfort and no bad energy while chatting with them; it is all love and growth. Is that not how good friendship is meant to be?

But do not get me wrong, I am not saying that physical friendship is not good, because sometimes, I need that one-on-one conversation with my people to feel them, to laugh with them, and to get more closeness because sometimes, these things I have mentioned are also necessary, if I will not lie.

In my country, where everyone is busy searching for the good day under this hot sun, online friendship has bridged that gap by serving as a good intermediary for most of us. Even without seeing one another, most of us now share our goals together, connect our business ideas, and even teach each other stuff. And what I have realized over time is that whether it is a physical or online friendship, what I need is understanding because without that, none is going to work.

And I also need to say this: we need to make everything balance because it is something very uncommon these days to see someone who would listen to our silence either through physical means or online. That is gold, and we need to admire that.
